Hello there..

I have just recently looked at, for the first time, the beauty of a computer the XPS M2010 is. This is an amazing product DELL has on its hands with a ton of potential. Not only can this computer be a regular laptop, it can serve as a stationary all in one desktop when need be. The ability of the keyboard to dock into and out of the laptop is just brilliant. I propose that DELL starts to give this computer more propaganda as the: "Mobile All-in-One". How cool is that? This computer comes standard with a 20inch screen, which is just the same as the XPS One. Not to mention, it has better graphics card and the ability to make it 4GB of RAM which beats the XPS One. Even if you do not start this propaganda, at the very least, offer it on the desktop section where the current Dell XPS One is (not just under laptops). Or, make a single section under desktops for All-in-One PC's with the XPS One and this baby right here. I am SURE that a lot of people looking for desktops (especially All-in-One's) will consider this computer when they see that they can not only have a clean and tighty desktop but in the case that they want to take it to a meeting or what not, they can!!! Many people looking for desktops will NEVER look at the laptop section, never seeing this great product. So add it to the desktop section already! Add the ability to add a wireless mouse to all of them too (cheaper versions do not).

This computer won me over DELL! I wanted an XPS One when they got more powerful, but this computer gives me that RIGHT NOW and the versatility of mobility! Both my desktop and my laptop are comming of age and will have to replace them some day. This computer would offer me the possibility of replacing them both with one computer. I know this comp doesnt come cheap, but I would have to pay a whole lot more to get both a laptop and a desktop with the power this comp can bring.

stormrider451 Mar 5	Yea thats why I am also proposing the posibility that a section for All in One PC's be made. Where both of these comps could be exhibited. It would make it slightly less confusing.
stormrider451 Mar 5	I want to make it clear that I am not saying to move this computer from the laptop section to the desktop section. I am proposing that it be included in BOTH at the same time. So that it can have a bigger exposure span due to its versatility as both types of computers. People that go into a site looking for a desktop will usually not look at the laptop section. By doing what I am saying, you would force them to see a product they might want but would never get to see the way it is right now.
aikiwolfie Mar 5	The M2010 isn't a desktop and it's not really a laptop either. It's a portable PC. Designed to go with you, but not really designed to sit on your lap. I don't really want yet another section to Dells on-line presence. There are too many already.
stormrider451 Mar 5	Aiki, if you feel that it is not a laptop and that it is a portable pc, why is it on the laptop section and not on the desktop section? And wait, its portable, of course it has to be on the laptop section.....but then again its like more suited to be on your desk? You see what I mean? This computer is great because it is a huge ??? in nature.. Due to this uncertainty of what kind of comp it exactly is (Desk or Lap), it would be beneficial to DELL to give this PC exposure not only on the laptop section but on the desktop section. Simply because it can be either of the two. And trust me on this, because I am one that does it. If I am going to buy a desktop, I would rarely look at the laptop section because thats not what I am looking for. There is never anything wrong with added exposure, especially on such a great product. Hopefuly the dell people will find more validity on my idea than the current sensus here. Because I think they might be loosing potential M2010 buyers due to this simple detail.
kanoneno Mar 5	I agree that Dell should offer it in the desktop section also, after all its in the desktop replacement category so desktop market should be able to find it easily without having to get into the laptop section. Maybe someone that is thinking in buying a new desktop computer will change its mind by watching the M2010, I mean, thats the main thing about desktop replacement. But please Dell update the M2010 I'm about to buy a M1730 because I can't afford to wait much longer to buy something for work, but I need a bigger screen. I've already posted an idea about updating the M2010 but it is already forgotten in the ethernal wish list of Dells idea storm.
aikiwolfie Mar 6	The fact that it's portable is why it's in the laptop section. If someone is looking for a portable/laptop that is where they will look.
stormrider451 Mar 6	You arent getting my point. We are not doing this for someone who is looking for a portable/laptop. We are doing this for someone who is looking for a desktop (all in one or not all in one) that is not getting exposed to this product because he or she will not look at the laptop section. If that person doesnt see the product, he or she will not know it exists and therefore not buy it. We are talking about a product that is basically a portable DESKTOP. Because, as you say its nothing near a laptop (in the sense that its so huge and heavy). So, accordingly, being both portable and mostly a desktop, it should be offered in both sections to try and get as many customers as possible: those that are looking for something portable and those that are looking for a desktop.
aikiwolfie Mar 6	Then they should be buying a desktop and not a portable or a laptop if that is what they want. Dell has far more suitable products than the XPS M2010 for people that want a desktop.
stormrider451 Mar 6	If you dont know it exists, you dont really know if you would like a portable desktop or a simple desktop now would you? Look at my case, I wanted an XPS One. I havent bought it because I want it to get more power. The XPS One is a Desktop, nothing more than a desktop. Now look at me, I peeked into the laptop section looking for ideas to post and tara!!! I saw the M2010 and now thats the comp I want. No longer do I want a simple desktop, i want a mobile desktop because now i know they exist, you see what I mean? Its called trying to cover all the bases you can so you can attract as many costumers as you can. Sometimes you think you know what you want, until you get blown away by something totally new. This M2010 is a brand new concept of having portable desktops. Not everyone knows about it, if it wasnt for my curiosity in looking for ideas on the laptop section, I would have never known. Normal costumers will not do that, they will simply look at the desktops and thats it (because as you say, thats what they want). So, what I am proposing is to force people to know about it by putting it in both laptop and desktop sections, and thus covering all the spectrum of possible costumers. Simple move that will bring more exposure to the M2010 and to dell because this is simply a beautiful comp. And to this point I havent seen aything like it. Dell is a retail company. As a retail company you cant limit your costumers like the way you are. You need to get as many costumers as possible. You need to be ready and sometimes think about how costumers think so you can set good strategies that can get you more product sales.
zanlok Mar 6	costumers? that's funny. what Dell really needs to do is introduce an XPS M2030, though. and for heaven's sake, Dell, put 8800M SLi in it and not some second-rate ATI nonsense !
stormrider451 Mar 6	Zanlok I agree with you.. With the price tag this computer has, a better video card should come standard. Its not bad, but it aint the best, and this comp's price demands the best.
zanlok Mar 6	Right - that's why to me, as well - because the price is already premium, so let's see all-premium parts. I'd even understand if they didn't think it's enough of a gaming rig to do SLi (I'd not expect a PhysX card, after all), but just offered one 8800M.
zanlok Mar 6	in your "it's called" logic - I'd say the game is called: Generating Demand (by introducing new value) I definitely think a basic M2030 model would be a lot better than an XPS One because of the mobility. After all, considering the One's wireless kb+mouse, it is very portable, but of course requires a power connection.

kanoneno Mar 7	Yep I also prefer Nvidia. I mean, that size and price for a computer should at least give the option to include all the top of the line features.
