Give a choice of either Ati or Nvidia gpu's

Everyone is a fanboy to one particular brand and prefers their products, so why do some desktops and a lot of laptops only have one option. There should be at least one Ati card and one Nvidia card available for each machine so people dont have to go for the brand they dont want. Its only fair...

I myself use only NVidia graphics cards. But I do agree that options should be offered.

In some cases, it is getting difficult to pair the gfx cards with anything else. AMD will want you to use an AMD CPU motherboard and Nvidia wants to steer you towards nForce (ie: for SLi). Kinda makes it hard to offer "interchange-ability".

PS, Nvidia is of course hands down winner in almost every category from raw performance at any price (9800 GX2) into the best price:performance ratios (9600 GT) - so you have to understand why so many Dell systems lean towards that brand for the time being!

ATI is horrible, NVIDIA is awesome, but, like winoffice, I do agree that the option should be allowed.

nvidia 8800gt can be had for under $200 so why is dell charging $300 for a extra 8800gt on the xps 630
maybe nvidia is not the way to go. never had any problems with ATI cards or drivers to this day but like
the man said one should have a choice

I think this would be a really good idea as my self am a gamer and i like to use ATI over nvidia and i would like to see some crossfire desktops as that would make me buy a dell then

I have a Latitude D810 with an ATI X600, and a New Vostro 1500 with an NVidia 8400M GS and the old latitude runs Vista's Aero perfectly. The NVidia, not at all. Both have the same res monitors and the latitude has i gig of ram and a single core pentium m. NVidia cannot run aero at high resolutions for Vista unlike the much older ATI X600. I hade a D820 as well with NVidia Quadro graphics and it still was bad with Vista's Aero. This is where i think an option would be sweet.
