Dell Can Australia have a Ubuntu OS Laptop

Why not let any one in any part of the world order ubuntu operating system on a Dell laptop we in Australia seem to be out of luck with no listing on the Australian Dell website that give us a linux OS link. Orders are made online I think we would wait the little bit more time if a ubuntu Dell laptop has to come from US or UK just get the power supply right for Australia that all, not that hard you think. And go for the Apple power plug it just a great idea smart and simple.

Free trade between nations is highly desirable, I think Dell benefits from that and shoud try not to (if possible) undermine the system which lets you compete around the world. In the end freedoms not taken can easily be lost. If it hurts our competitiveness as a nation (Norway), not to have computer factories, I think we eventually might long-term be forced to protect our industry against foreign computer companies. (Small markets are usually not first priority). That being said, international logistics is a nightmare and then there are additional costs involved in training employees, computer systems etc. so I would understand perfectly if this request isn't granted, but please consider it anyway.

you mean like: Sell_Linux_PCs_Worldwide__not_only_the_United_States
or: Make_LinuxOther_OS_available_in_ALL_countries
(duplicate!)

They also have different pricing strategies in different countries. Here, Dell is quite expensive, and for specific laptops are often 30-60% more expensive than the US counterparts, which also offer far more options, from RAM to screen resolution to OS choice. I'm all for changing all this, but honestly don't see it happening.

I need a laptop and I use Ubuntu I also need good if not great support for the laptop I buy, Dell has great support plan if you have a problem it can be fixed, The problem in Australia is the support for Linux laptops are hit and miss this is why a large company like Dell needs to step in and offer the backup and support and that why we buy from Dell for great hardware and support.

That description was barely comprehensible but going off on a tangent about a completely different idea made it even worse.

I want to purchase a Ubuntu Dell in AUSTRALIA. Dell, stop listening to your bean counters and shareholders who focus on short term profits. You guys have a chance to the leader here, show leadership, show vision, embrace it. The rewards will be there. What are you waiting for? For another company to do it?
