Crossfire and SLI

200 points posted to Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Gaming, XPS products by darkproteus66 Apr 30 **IMPLEMENTED**

Do like HP has done with the black bird 02 and offer XPS gaming models that can run SLI or Crossfire off the same high end mobo.

I'm not sure about this. The Blackbird got some disappointing reviews because of this feature. Apparently supporting both graphics solutions slows down the mobo somewhat.

The only issues i've read so far on the system is when publications recieve the vista version instead of the xp version. Aside from that i've read nothing but good press. Besides with the new crossfire x cards they should theoretically work on any dual pci-e 16x board.

darkproteus66,
Instead of DOING like HP it is nice to know that we consider oursleves ABOVE HP when it comes to bringing customers the most up to date cutting edge technology that customers are wanting from us. I know that Dell does research for the best computer components in the market to excel in bringing them to our customer base at a reasonable affordabe price. Great things are on the horizon from us.
What other type of components would you like to see in our systems? We encourage you and others to continue with these outstanding ideas here in Ideastorm. They really do help us to know what customers are looking for when making computer purchases.

i smell and update of the 720/720 H2C coming. Someone already mentioned dual-quad. I want the ability to put in 4 hard rives of 1TB or 4 160gb 10k rpm drives. Dual-Bluray has got to stay. Dual HDMI and Display port outputs. H2C should be in the next model. Sexy case with a window. Perhaps Crossfire or SLI Mobo's should be available. I know that is not the cheapest way to do it, but at least it gives crossfire options to those who want it.

How about quad quad core CPUs with quad SLI!?! Don't know what you'd possibly use all that power for. Would be fun trying to push it to the edge though. :oD

That type of power would actually be really useful in a high end workstation. Have CAD running with multiple vm's and you can program and test multiple configurations at one machine all at the same time.
