Cut the cost of a 9-cell battery upgrade

Yes a 9-cell is more powerful and lasts longer, but $169? Come on. It can't be that much. Cut down the price to honestly reflect the difference. I mean good grief, you can buy a 9-cell replacement for an Inspiron 1720 for $154! An upgrade is always supposed to be less.

FIX IT, DELL!!!!

May 7		 Right now there is a bit of a shortage on battery manufacturing capability, I am sure the prices will drop soon, hopefully.

May 14		 That does not change my point. The upgrade should not cost more than buying a replacement. And DON'T make the replacement more expensive... make the upgrade less.

May 14		 Sorry ccpljat, I didn't quite understand what you were saying the first time i read it. I have sent the issue off for some people to look at. I'll let you know what I can. I could be way off base on this, but it is possible that the replacement batteries have already been purchased at a slightly lower price, they are already here and available to ship, while batteries for new systems are purchased on a just in time (JIT) basis and may be costing us a bit more due to the shortage.

May 14		 Then I would explain how come HP for instance STILL has their upgrade from a single six cell battery to one six cell and one 12 cell battery for $139.00 while on Dell the upgrade from a 6-cell to a 9-cell battery is $120-169.

May 20		 I just purchased a new 9 cell (7800 Mah, 85wh) replacement battery for $99. Thats is $200 cheaper than Dell's price for the same battery. Poor form, Dell.

Jun 6		 This is a total rip off!!!!!!!!! Best part of a £100 in the uk to upgrade by 3 cells. A blatant middle finger to all Dell's loyal customers. especially when everyone else is doing them so much cheaper.
