Dell needs to fix the Dell outlet so you don't need to call to make a purchase

I remember the day when i had some available credit on my prefered accpont and brouseing the outlet i find a great deal.. I select the item, go through the checkout proceedures then... what! call this number to use your prefered account between 7 am and 7 pm... O.K. Its 7:30 p.m. I try back at 7 a. m. and someone has already purchased the system.. It was so much easyer to make your own purchase and when you want to.. I think it needs to be fixed..

Hey! I’m Debbie the Community Care Liaison. I understand that not being able to purchase using your Dell Preferred Account (DPA) is frustrating and apologize for any inconvenience. I chatted with our Dell Outlet Team and they assured me that they are working to get this feature back as quickly as possible.

For DPA purchases, each order goes through a verification process that ensures the privacy and protection of the account holder. Because Dell Outlet products are preconfigured, we need to improve that DPA process to match the speed at which Outlet products are processed and shipped. The improvements are taking longer than the Dell Outlet team originally anticipated, but it is still a priority. In the mean time, you can still purchase using your DPA, you just need to call in and one of our reps can place the order for you. Reps are available from 7am to 7pm CST and can be reached at 1-866-492-6721.

Maybe if ward733 couldn't use his DPA, couldn't the system he wanted be put on hold? It is a 7 day a week, 24 hour a day, worldwide market.
