Cool(er) laptops!!

-200 points posted to IdeaStorm, Monitors and Displays, New Product Ideas by doc Feb 12

Heres a good idea!! How about a laptop that has Two screens but on the SAME rotating point. You know as in you do some work on one screen the flip your display around and Voila! you can now log onto the internat without having to interupt your first work. Good isnt it? Handy too.Well ill be writing more soon keep looking.

they won't be popular since dell don't do consoles. but you never know who reads this site. i'm pretty sure i'm not the only person in japan that reads it

Interesting thought, but bad on the practical side. It leaves one screen at any given time exposed to damage, even if laptop is closed.

make the 2nd screen extendable instead of doing 360's. i could see that getting busted a lot

Using Compiz on Linux lets one screen act like 4. I can rotate my Inspiron 1420n workspace and it only takes one physical screen.

And windows has a powertool to enable 4 virtual desktops as well.

it doesn't do a desktop cube though and only works in XP (as far as i know, it may work in vista but I am not sure.)

Yeah, who needs multiple LCD's when you can have multiple workspaces? Especially if you can't see both LCD's at once.

@doc: there is no mention in this idea of any form of a shutter or other protective device.

This is a very bad Idea.

Windows has buy able Virtual Desktops but they aren't the nicest things to use If anyone has ever searched for them.

Major Linux Desktop Enviroments has a very nicely intergrated Virtual Desktop Enviroment.
E.G. Xfce or GNOME (GNOME is the default of Ubuntu Linux)
