Rewards for Dell Shoppers

Dell should provide a way for customers to accrue rewards, or points, for purchases! I have bought a number of Dell computers over the years, and would love to see some appreciation for my allegiance!

For example, every time I buy a computer, I get 100 points. After... say, 300 points, I get 50% off my next purchase, or something to that effect.

Just like Credit Card Rewards!

02/19/07		 This would be huge in the last 4 years I've purchased, or been responsible for the purchase of:
Dimension 4600
Dimension 8400
XPS M1710 (all three for myself or my wife)
Dimension 9200 for my father
Dimension 1100 for my sister in law (bought under our account)
Laptop Inspiron 6400 maybe? 6000 and something, for my cousin. She got it a couple years ago, but I haven't seen her since, but I encouraged her to but it at the time.
and I'm working getting a friend to buy a 9200. Not only that but when I showed up in the second year of my college degree with the m1710 instead of the school provided Tecra A3, that got a lot of my classmates taking a good hard look at that. You can't buy that kind of exposure, but it would be nice to reward it.

02/20/07		 I would definitely quit buying Dell if they introduced points. I hate systems like that. It's a waste of my time, and it's manipulative.

Wow. I buy 20-25 computers for my business every year. I would love getting a 50% discount after buying 3 computers.

02/22/07		 Considering there is only a small profit margin on PCs I don't think a 50% discount is going to happen, especially if you are only buying 3 computers :-)

02/22/07		 They could offer better financing terms, free software or hardware upgrades, free extended warranties without costing themselves too much money. I don't know about you but I think when you show loyalty to a brand they should reward you so you feel special and do not jump ship on your next purchase.

03/01/07		 A "club" concept would add to customer loyalty for the dell brand, especially as a destination point for consumer electronics.

03/10/07		 I know that Dell has this plan with companies that when a product becomes X years old, the company ships their old computers back to Dell in exchange for new ones, with all the hard drive information loaded up on the new systems. Thats one of the reasons why I love the Optiplex series so much, plus they're really the best computers ever made.

04/11/07		 Great point, we're americans and we are greedy and we have come to expect that. Dell is so far behind when it comes to customer service and this is just another sad point.

05/02/07		 Or maybe just an extra year warranty for next purchase? Or a gift certificate. We all know most people spend more than the gift certificate or lose it or something. Maybe gift cert isn't a good idea, but I DO NOT WANT another card to carry around or another credit card. B.S. on that "owning a dell computer is reward enough" -- I wish a white box place was as sophisticated at putting a system together; I'd buy all the parts individually.
