Offer LED backlit displays (at lease as an option) for laptops!

They are brighter, offer better contrast, and longer battery life!

05/02/07		 This would give Dell a huge advantage over its competition, as it would allow Dell to advertise all of the advantages of having LED backlights (e.g. zero mercury, higher brightness, better contrast, longer battery life), as advantages of Dell notebooks because of this innovation. Apple is already planning on doing it by the end of 2008, so a failure to do this could result in Dell losing marketshare to Apple:

08/16/07		 Dell is now offering LED backlight options on select notebooks, like the XPS M1330. You have to be willing to downgrade from a 2 MP camera to a 640x480 (VGA) camera if you want an integrated video conferencing option. Personally, I'd get the LED display sans camera, and purchase a Logitech USB video camera. Less convenient, but VGA resolution is pretty poor compared to what's offered these
