610 points posted to XPS products by 3dvirus 06/22/07

I also suggest Blu-Ray option for this hot computer.

We know this is an option for the XPS M1330, it would be great to know when it will be available and at what price.

I'm holding off buying my m1330, until there is either an HD-DVD or Blue-Ray drive. A combo drive, would be ideal, but we're probably a long ways off from seeing them, so it will have to wait for my next laptop.

XPS m1330 NEEDS a Blu Ray Drive Option!!!1

The XPS m1330 NEEDS a Blu Ray drive option!!!

With the addition of the HDMI port on the m1330, the blu ray drive should be a no brainer!!! I am holding out from buying the m1330 until there is a blu ray drive option

There are BlueRay + HD-DVD combo drives which would make more sense to use.
Theyre still pricy though. http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=20703< i'll wait until the Holographic disks come out with a smaller version. (HVD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_Versatile_Disc for those interested)

Go combo drive if it's possible. But if not at lease don't make the XPS M1330 look bad by not including a BD option. Even the cheaper Inspiron 1420 has BD as option.

I had planned to buy one, but decided to delay until a Blu-ray drive is available on the XPS M1330, seems unreasonable that the lower end cheaper laptops have it for an option, but the new one doesn't

Is it known if Dell will offer the Blue-Ray option on the m1330 or is this just a speculation. If they will offer it, when can it be expected?

the m1330 needs a blu-ray and a 100 gb ssd with 4gbs ram and the t7700 processor with a 256 dedicated video card option

I thought this product was supposed to have the option anyway since many early reviewers quoted it as having the blu-ray capability to begin with. They sure like to keep things "under review" for long periods of time. I already have this laptop; I just hope they make it easy to upgrade if the blu-ray option appears.

From going through these comments it seems that the last we heard from Dell was in the summer with "under review". It's Jan 08 now. Is there any updates? When will blu ray slot drive be offered for the M1330? I have the M1330 and it is hooked up to a 42 inch 1080p LCD TV through the HDMI output. A blu ray slot drive would be sweet.

I too will not buy one of these machines until Blu-Ray is available. Currently there is also no option for SSD in the UK.
