IdeaStorm should have a visible link and explanation on the main Dell site as well as a Desktop shortcut on all new installations.

I've been a Dell customer since my XPS-500 back in the mid 90's and I only just found out about IdeaStorm through a PodCast.

If people know they can have a voice and make a difference, they'll use it.

This idea has been partially implemented, as our new home page now has a prominent link to "Dell Community" - within that page are links to IdeaStorm and our other community properties, including Dell Community Forums, Direct2Dell, StudioDell, etc. Thanks for the idea!!!

daradib 07/11/07	I don't think a desktop shortcut on new installations is reasonable, but I do agree that IdeaStorm should be more publicized.

It's not a huge request but I find that when looking at ideas here I sometimes want to go to dell.com and see what a person is talking about but for some odd reason there is no link on this site. I could type it in my browser, use a bookmark or go through the forums link to get there but its a hassle. So please add a link to Dell.com at the top of the page along with the other Dell links. while you are at it add a link to ideastorm to the dell.com site.

cestjacque 07/23/07	I agree, IdeaStorm may very well be a priority for Michael Dell and a critical component of his re-vitalization of Dell's customer service and folks' perception of it, but they forgot to tell anyone about it;-)

rreese 07/29/07	I found this after going round and round on the dell site...I am still not sure how I got here. A link on the home page would be cool, or maybe a little tiny Tux icon (linking to Linux info) placed on the main page.. Linux people would know what it is. :) thx

kyliemanders 07/31/07	I don't think it is a good idea and would probably cost Dell sales. There are a lot of negative comments on this site about Dell and that does not really drive sales. Sure most of it is true but you don't want to expose it. Imagine if before going on a first date you were required to expose your dirty laundry. That is just what Dell would be doing.

dilleyboy 09/10/07	I wasn't even looking for anything from Dell, but I was looking for think tanks. When I accidently came across Idea Storm. I thought it was a great site, being that I own several Dells. A link on support.dell.com, a site I go to on a regular basis, would have been a much better way to have found it.

moeslein 12/29/07	i think there should be also a link in the Innovation menu point and not only in the community ... you are working to become a customer-active manufacturer so why do you not want to talk about it???

This is a really useful forum (though it runs the risk of becoming a big productivity drain - I could surf through ideas like these for hours). How come I hadn't heard of it before?
