ExpressCards are the new PCMCIA. They've even replaced the PCMCIA on all but one line of Dell laptops. Unfortunately for the end-users, most cards are still PCMCIA. Performing internet searches, thousands of PCMCIA cards are available when merely a handful of ExpressCard expansion options exist. This is a disadvantage to us, the consumers, in that we have fewer options for expansion and, in addition, we cannot use our old cards.
