WD-40 removes the gunky glue after you peel them off, just FYI so you don't end up with a gunky wrist rest. So blot a rag with WD-40 and wipe carefully and hard and the gunky glue will be gone forever and now you'll have smooth bump free wrist rests.

Also if you start to peel them off and it tears you can still use the WD-40 to help wipe the remaining sticker off. Use a old or one of those demo credit cards from American Express that they keep shipping to pry the sticker off. Don't use a metal edge your you'll end up with scratch marks, same with a knife.

Keep the stickers as an option, just allow other options. Like this:

For laptops:

Lower right corner of keyboard/touchpad (as it was always so)
No stickers
Other options

For desktops:

On the lower left corner of the front (as it was always so)
No stickers
Other options

for some reason i think Now when you build a dell it is gonna take like hours to do so with all the options we all want from software to stickers....

Can't wait to see the option of "Dell Logo <included> " or "No Dell Logo O $120"
davmcn
07/16/07
I Don't think they are going to get rid of that...
jorge

What about for $120? There's a price for everything you know.
davmcn

Why buy unmarked Dells (without the logo)?

Makes the case look ugly? Its advertising and well having a sleak plain un-badged computer is the next step in removing everything not related to the customer? Its Green, less overhead in making special holes and nooks and crannies for a logo which does absolutely nothing for the customer.

New Idea!

I like to take the 'designed for windows' stickers and stick them on the toilet

Offensive! If you do that to library computers then you pay for defacing property.

jorge

Yea, when you edit your idea it changes the state back to none, but you can edit your comment so it doesn't say that so it doesn't look like you goofed it up.

I love the stickers... I actually sent of for my 4 Ubuntu stickers and my PCs wear them with pride... BUT....

...after reading this post, and also a post about including driver CDs with new PCs (some people actually don't want them...! ...Go figure!), I think perhaps dell should send a 'welcome pack' kind of idea with new PCs... containing all your driver/re-install discs, branding stickers, instruction manuals, etc... so that if your that way inclined, you can just get rid of them... or send your stickers to me!

JUST GIVE PEOPLE THE CHOICE!!!
Problem solved.

This idea will satisfy the sticker phenomena or annoyance (which ever camp you're in)
