Selling Desktops/Notebooks in B-Schools in India

110 points posted to Education, Desktops and Laptops by sankalp 08/09/07

There is potential to sell Desktops or notebooks in Business Schools and other leading Educational Institutions in India. When I joined my B-School in 1998 - XIMB, all 120 of us had a computer to ourselves. The cost was built in to the course fee. Usually these B-Schools rely on local assemblers to keep the cost low. The students take their Desktops with them after they complete their MBA or sell it. This was nine years back. Now it is a trend or a need in every B-School that computers be available for all students.

As against selling to the Administration for Admin use - you are actually selling to students through the course fee they pay the institute. To give an example - if my B-School would partner with you 9 years back, every year, 120 Desktops would be purchased for the students. And there are many B-Schools in India providing Desktops and some providing Notebooks (ISB - Tie up with Kellogs institute).
