Put wheels on the bottom of PC cases (as an option of course)

Put wheels on the bottom of PC cases (as an option of course). Mag wheels, alloy, spinners, chrome, gold or just plain shopping trolley plastic wheels. Put wheels on the bottom to make it easier to wheel in and wheel out the PC case when you're changing all the bloody cords at the back.

Well it should come with a warning, if you wheel it around (without power) on a bumpy floor you may unseat parts, we had this happen to a server they wheeled it into our data center, we had brick floor so it all the bumps, and it dislodged a crystal that was socketed, why it wasnt soldered down I dont know.

For the purpose described I doubt that would be a problem. Anyway Dell could ship the wheels and let user attach them themselves just as they do with the stand that comes with the XPS range to stop it toppling over. And that I guess is why Dell don't ship wheels with their PCs. They don't provide and added stability.

Well be fair. That entire rig looks ugly. I'm sure Dell could do a far better job.

They could have electronic stabilization, traction control and ABS. Got to think BIG.

I would reccommend a fitted 'rolling frame' for this. (they're already invented)
Looks like the above, but the wheels would be stuck to a thick plastic sort of cart w/ a hole in the bottom to save plastic.
Especially good for desktop computers on a smooth floor. Emphasis on being removable.

I agree that a 'rolling frame' might be better then wheels. Wheels could be hard to use on carpet...and bad on a hardwood floor.

For one thing, if you are moving, it will be far easier to pack your PC. Maybe monitors should also have it as an option...
