use open wireless cards

How about putting open source supported wireless cards in all you laptops and desktops so when some one wants to switch from winbloze to linux, the wireless config is painless!

Just making Intel wireless the default would go a long way toward solving these problems, since Intel's drivers are open. The problem is that many machines are shipped with Broadcom wireless which have been hard to support in Linux. I routinely pay to upgrade to the Intel wireless option to avoid any problems with running Linux on a Dell laptop.
