Touchpad and keyboard lock on notebooks

Many a times, we end up resting our fingers on the touchpad or accidently tapping it. If such a thing happens during crucial work, things might go terribly wrong. A small push button switch close to the touchpad to lock or unlock it would be a very useful feature.
Similarly a keyboard that can be locked by toggling a switch on the side of the notebook would be useful when you dont want to accidently press or click something.
