Dell should start to sell notebook with Penryn processor because it require less power more performance
T9500 6MB L2 2.60 GHz 800 MHz
T9300 6MB L2 2.50 GHz 800 MHz
T8300 3MB L2 2.40 GHz 800 MHz
T8100 3MB L2 2.10 GHz 800 MHz
specially on the XPS line etc... , well i hope DELL would not overcharge the consumers , dell can you sell this to us right now!!! for now it seems dell is falling behind again , well they have catchup with their design but somehow they fall behind with the power inside the laptop especially the penryn processors , dell hear us now implement the PENRYN processor , your behind from HP now , if you have gone to hp website and choose the dv9700t and dv6700t model you will see that HP is getting started about the Intel Penryn T9300 6MB L2 2.50 GHz as an option, , i dont know why DELL is Behind they should implement this now!!!

Will be difficult as Intel has not released it yet though when they do I'm pretty sure Dell will have it available. It is estimated for release this month however, Intel is stalling due to the fact that they need to clear out more stock of their 65nm Processors before releasing Penryn, especially the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz which is at the price point sweet spot currently due to this. Look for this model on sale when Penryn is released as prices should reduce by 20-30%!!!

Penryn processors were released one week ago.
HP, Asus etc have already updated their machines. What is Dell waiting for? I want to buy a XPS m1530, but not with an old processor. I will wait, but not for too long. If HP comes out with a 8510 with penryn, they will have my money

Dell is really falling behind in my books too. I really wanted an xps m1530 with the new processor and LED backlit display but they're slacking. I just might switch to Apple even though I don't like Macs

Same. Dell's prices are high-end compared to HP, and their computers should reflect that in their top-of-the-line hardware.

I couldn't agree more. I'd also like to see them offering better video card choices on their laptops. Why don't they have the GeForce 8800M available when Alienware has already got it out?

HP Slips Intel's Penryn Processor into Consumer Laptops

If you visit HPShopping.com now and go to the configuration screen you will get an option for selecting an Intel T9300 2.50GHz Core 2 Duo processor. The T9300 comes from the latest Core 2 Duo line of Penryn processors and offers a larger 6MB L2 cache and about a 10% performance boost over the equivalent Santa Rosa processor. HP is one of the first major vendors to offer Intel's Penryn in a mainstream non-gaming notebook, DELL is notably absent from having Penryn available in any of its laptops at the moment. falling behind again here is my topic link about this to promote the intel Penryn processor

They deffinately need to update their XPS desktop's as well.
I wanted to buy the XPS 720 since last October (Actually I did buy it, but I cancelled the order) but I've been waiting for the new Penryns.
I am not sure how much longer I can wait, if another macnufacturer is already out the door, then I'll have no choice but to jump ship because my current system get slower by the minute, I can't even play Crysis.
I am also patiently waiting on the 2408-HC monitor, but I may pull the trigger on Gateway's 24 incher instead.

Dell now offers the T8300 and T9300 on the Inspiron 1720 and the T8300 on the Inspiron 1420 and 1520 makes as well.

I would also make the T9300 an option on ALL Inspiron notebooks, and the T9300 and T9500 options on all XPS notebooks as well.
