Tri-screen laptop

120 points posted to Monitors and Displays, Laptops by jbb3141 Jan 15

The popularity of mutliple screens used on PCs today is increasing daily. A lot of people have at least two screens but three are ideal.

It would be awesome to have a laptop with three screens, two that fold out; one on the left and one on the right of the normal laptop screen. These would fold inward to stack on the main screen then all three would fold down over the laptop as normal.

It would be better if the screen would just have two parts, one that slides out of the other. This way the screen could be used expanded or unexpanded. If more real estate is needed then an external monitor could be hooked up to the notebook.

If you want three screens, look here: http://shopmatrox.com/usa/products/datasheet.asp?ID=858. Probably a lot lighter than three integrated screens and not as likely to break. Obviously not as innovative as the original request either but probably more affordable ;)

Simple just put 2 DVI ports on the laptop and allow 2 screens + laptop monitor to be used!

I'll likely get my head around this at some point. But right now I just don't see the need for the average person to have more than one screen on a notebook. Battery life is bad enough as it is.

So you want a portable workstation? There is actually a company that produces such a notebook. I just can't remember who it is.

You would think they would put Raid 0 or 1 on there Precisions if they are targeted at Mobile workstations ( which is exactly what i am after )..... Yet i can get it on there home targeted laptops.... Very annoying.
