DELL stop "editing" our posts.

DELL stop "messing with" or sensoring our posts. You allow vulgar ID's but you change catagories that we post to? The idea of adding other relevant catagories is so the idea will be veiwed by the most people possible.

Offer CPU and GPU choices in ALL products.

DELL should offer all of it's prroduct lines with choices. Each system should offer AMD or Intel CPU's. Each system should also be offered with ATI or NVIDIA GPU's.
This is as easy as an AMD and Intel mother board for each line.

For notebooks the video cards would not be integrated, but would be separate and upgradeable, using the same plug or slot format for both the ATI and NVIDIA GPU's.

Notebook upgradeabilty can be as easy as one standard plug or slot. even if the cards are propriatary as the current DELL offerings are the customer would have choices available now and in the future as GPU's improve. 9 Comments »

Offer video card options for AMD systems. not just inegrated This post mostly refers to the Vostro / Inspiron lines of notebooks but applies to all AMD based offerings. If DELL can use NVIDIA cards 8400, 8600, 8800 in their Intel systems why can't they use the better ATI cards in the Inspiron system. Those of us who prefer AMD want options too. 5 Comments »

Adding Second HD to Inspiron 1721/1720

If you choose to order a 2nd HD to the 1720/1721 and do not order the model specific drive from DELL you will need the following parts. HD carrier p/n C7589 and Interposer p/n XK231.

This took 4 calls 4 chats 6hours 8 reps 1manager and they had to disassemble a 1721 to get the p/n's.

Reverse Insperon 1721/1720 Hard DrIve Mounting Direction

Reverse the direction the the hard drives slide into slot, eliminate pin addapter, and include 2nd hard drive mounting carrier. Custumers who want to add second drives, buy the drive open the compartment, only to find out the drive will not plug in with out a mounting carrier and pin addapter. VERY Frustating! 1 Comment »
