Now You Choose – Concept 1

Gaming, XPS products submitted by dell_admin1 04/25/07

Participate in the product design process! Dell is using IdeaStorm to decide between two new product design concepts. Vote on your favorite and weigh in to tell us what you think.

When we unveiled the XPS 710 H2C at CES this year, we also uncovered it. There were a limited number of systems sprinkled throughout the show floor that had a clear side panel allowing easy viewing of the patent-pending two-stage H2C liquid cooling system.

Since then, more than a few people have suggested we offer a “panel with a view” as an option for our XPS 710 line. Now we need you to vote for one of these two options and, most importantly, share some reasons why you like it.

This “Now You Choose” vote campaign will be open from Wednesday, April 25 to Friday, May 11. The design that gets the most votes will be featured in a future generation of XPS gaming desktops.

Axim XPS

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.) submitted by pocketdoom 04/11/07

The Axim x51v is close to two years old. You announced the XPS line last year. I have been waiting to upgrade my Axim X3. I did not like the buttons on the x51 so I did not buy it. I was looking at it for the last week changing my mind. When I went to buy it, Dell stopped selling it.

I have been waiting for the Axim XPS. A combination between the PDA and the DJ. Same size with all the functions of the Axim with the storage of the DJ.

Bring them back. 4 Comments »

NOTEBOOK FOR COMPUTER TECHNICIANS

Laptops submitted by denny74 04/06/07

What about to suggest a Dell Notebook helpful for computer technicians, with: both windows and linux compatibility, all kind of ports installed (parallel, serial, usb, firewire, etc.), an hard disk easy-to-remove (easy like to remove a DVD or CD-Rom drive), all the existent type of connectivity installed and an auto-sensing LAN port?
I think that a lot of computer technicians (like me) will thanks Dell for this. 1 Comment »

Make Vista more cheaper by charging more from Linux users.

Linux, Operating Systems, Sales Strategies submitted by fabiods 04/05/07

Make Vista more cheaper by charging more from Linux users.

Or

Make an agreement with microsoft, one share exchange between the companies. Dell does not sell linux, but sells vista in a cheaper price. Dell and microsoft would be gaining market shares. 5 Comments »

Clear cased laptop

Laptops submitted by mschamberg 03/30/07

I like to see the amazing components and circuits that make up my Dell. What an amazing statement it would be to show the precision by having a clear case to hold it all together. 7 Comments »

Upgrade monitors with a HDMI input.

Gaming, Monitors and Displays submitted by nordoelum 04/05/07

I would love to see the Dell 2407WFP and other dell monitors with a HDMI input. Since more or more product is using this interface. Along with the new movie formats getting a bigger and bigger share. For those who have a gaming console, would agree on this idea completely. I myself am using a Xbox 360. If I had a Dell 2407WFP with a HDMI input, I would have bough the HD DVD addon. 8 Comments »

Dell....Google, Apple, and The Internet!!

Dell submitted by oagostinho 04/04/07

Today and The Future, it's very important to think not about the computer itself, but the computers, users, and the Internet like one system.

In one way, that is google do at the moment, seeing by the Eye's Internet (Social Networks, You Tube, Google Talk, iGooglePhone (Maybe or MayBe Not), etc). And, Dell? What they want to go? Be a simple computer manufacturer? Or, may be the next enterprise in this new era?
And, what does it means?, what it is all about? "À LA APPLE WAY", may be, may be not.... I'm not GOD, and in a matter of fact, anybody else, but i'm convinced that the new Dell, have to be one enterprise that can changes and continues to innovate in others way that anybody cannot imagine yet.

For example: Why don't build the next Java or .NET language? Why don't participate in any project that help to find the next HIV vacinate? The next VoIP++?

Did you see? Going to be the next big thing...!!!

One Laptop Per Child = XO Computer

Sales Strategies, Laptops submitted by trentreviso 04/04/07

Quanta, the hardware company which manufactures Dell laptops, plans to offer a commercial version of MIT's/UN's OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) computer for about $200.

I would love to have such a laptop available through Dell for about $200.

I would also think it a nice gesture to donate a small portion of the proceeds of the sale of each such machine back to the U.N.'s OLPC project.

Computers made with bamboo

Environment submitted by lrousseau 03/19/07 **IMPLEMENTED**

Could investigate use of alternate/natural materials to build computers. The engine should be regular materials of course, but the casing housing it could be bamboo - very resistant and light material, as well as communicating a totally "eco-friendly" message to consumers. No one else is doing it.

Wireless cards

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by motionstyle 04/01/07 **ALREADY OFFERED**

Why not offer a wireless card that supports a higher speed than the almost old 54mbps card? Netgear for example has network cards for notebooks which offer a 270 mbps speed. 4 Comments »

Offer Blue Ray or HD DVD on XPS Desktops & Notebooks

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), XPS products submitted by bfrench 04/03/07

As a high def movie / game enthusiast, I would like to see Dell offer a Blue Ray or HD DVD drive on it's highest end desktop machine, the XPS 710 H2C.

I realize this technology is new, but a couple of competitors are already offering high definition drives (on machines not nearly as awesome as the XPS). 4 Comments »
