I feel that the market is mature for DELL to introduce a SOHO NAS based on open source NAS software from freenas.org on a 4 bay tower platform powered by the intel XScalar or AMCC processors, there are lot of 2nd and 3rd tier vendors already offering it, with DELL scale of capability, customers can benefit. Have publicly available torrents/ISOs of all driver and media discs Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Software submitted by remover 06/15/07 **NOT NOW**
As a former dell technician and now computer repair shop technician, I frequently encounter Dell machines where there driver disc is missing and or out of date. Having worked on the phones I know it's not cheap for Dell to keep these in stock and to keep shipping them out. Desktops submitted by jerbl 02/17/07
I suggest that Dell design and sell a true mini-sized desktop CPU. Operating Systems - Multiboot submitted by rmartin 02/17/07 Need to add Mac OSX. Esp good idea when bundled with Parallels software so you could run Windows and linux at the same time. v10.5 will be out soon that makes it an ever better idea. 136 Comments » Operating Systems submitted by pwalker 01/30/07
There was an interesting op-ed by Doug Mohney in The Inquirer yesterday, which suggested that the launch of Vista provides a good opportunity for Apple - if it licences OS X to Dell. Sell a laptop with OS X installed Operating Systems, Laptops submitted by soundg 02/20/07 I know, your all getting a good laugh out of this suggestion, but...I know I would buy one and I would suggest to ALL my friends and relatives to do the same. Come on Steve Jobs, your operating system can make an impact. It's a polished Linux if you will... 2 Comments » Dell, Operating Systems, Desktops and Laptops submitted by bassaf 03/08/07 Make a deal with Steve Jobs and have OS X installed on new Dell PCs with style and affordable price, so my father can actualy use a computer without being a systems engineer. 51 Comments » Linux, Operating Systems - Multiboot, Service and Support submitted by spedbugy 02/26/07 I see everyone clamoring for linux and I agree that would be a great option, but I'd like to see drivers and support for dual or triple booting with OS X. I would like to work with that operating system, however Apple systems are rather expensive when compared to others. 6 Comments » Dell submitted by johndude 02/28/07
Dell's a bigger company than Apple is. OSX as a choice for operating system Operating Systems, Sales Strategies submitted by undoit 02/21/07
In addition to Linux, I think a lot of users would like to have the option of running OSX on their Dell computer as an alternative to Windows or with dual boot. The financial benefits for both Dell and Apple are obvious. And the benefit to the consumer would be an increased selection of hardware that can run OSX. I think both existing Apple customers and users who are new to OSX would like to have this option available. Apple's hardware selection is very limiting. Dell, Operating Systems submitted by slatermd 02/23/07 If Jobs will let you do it (doubtful) you should try to work a deal with Apple to license out OSX, or Leopard when that comes out. I can't imagine you could possibly sell a more expensive computer than Apple, haha. 2 Comments » Recycle & refurbish old Dell PCs back to Dell for 10% discount Environment submitted by reg 05/18/07
Recycle your old Dell back to Dell for a 10% discount on new equipment. Dell can then secure overwrite erase the hard drive, install Ubuntu + hardware drivers, then donate the hardware to unemployment, food stamp, and welfare offices Nationwide. The social services offices then can pass out the refurbished used equipment to its clients, and Dell can be given BIG tax breaks by the State and Federal Systems. NICE New Dell montor! Keep making great designs like this. Monitors and Displays submitted by jmxz 05/18/07

I think that something that competes with the OQO2 / Sony Vaio UX Series would be a very cool item. Carry Dell Ink Cartridges At Dell Direct Stores Printers and Ink, Sales Strategies submitted by xx_e_deizie_xx 05/08/07 I would like to see Dell ink cartridges held and sold at Dell Direct Stores kiosks around the nation. A few times I've accidentally clicked on the wrong button, or voted after reading the title of an idea but wanted to change it once I read the whole thing. Could you make it so we can still click the promote button after demoting or the demote button after promoting? Set Digg.com as the default homepage in Firefox Dell Community, Software submitted by firefoxplease 05/07/07 If Dell listens to its customers, then we'll soon be seeing Firefox as the default browser on their machines. Let's take it one step further and make Digg.com the default homepage in Firefox for Dell machines. 12 Comments » Create a very lightweight and easily portable laptop. Inspiron products, Laptops submitted by doogly 05/07/07 I think it would be great if Dell created a notebook that was very small, such as the ThinkPad X Series [http://shop.lenovo.com/us/notebooks/thinkpad/x-series] (for reference only). There are a large number of people out there, especially college students and business people who travel a lot, they really need a small and lightweight notebook that's easy to carry across campus or across the world on a business trip. I find it hard to imagine lugging an Inspiron 1501 half a mile to your next class. 4 Comments » track my votes
