Promote this Idea to let Dell know that we need to keep the XPS desktop and laptop product line. 31 Comments » Stop Overcharging on Notebook RAM Sales Strategies, Laptops submitted by realskript 08/28/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Dell really... REALLY need to stop overcharging... and when i say overcharing... i mean atleast double what you would pay to pick up the ram yourself. IdeaStorm submitted by zyr 06/15/07

XPS products submitted by crazymonkey 06/15/07 Please do not phase out the XPS m1210 model when the new m13xx models come out. I know you want to compete with Apple's MacBook with the new 13" screen models, but there are plenty of people who would choose the smaller and "compacter" m1210. 3 Comments » An even easier site-cleanup idea for Jokes, Dupes, etc. IdeaStorm submitted by jmxz 06/15/07

Demote an Idea should require a Comment IdeaStorm submitted by s3indiana 04/03/07 When an idea is demoted a comment should be required to give the original poster a perspective that was missed. I am 85 years old and I dislike getting down on my hands and knees to turn it off and on. At some locations it was under my work desk. You need to pay more attention to desires of older users. All PC's in general have catered too much to the young with useless frills. I am using my 3rd new Dell in 12 years of computer experience. I do my own investments and photo work on my 8300. The 3 year warrantee expired on November 14, 2006. I plan to purchase again when MS puts out it's first major update to Vista. 2 Comments » increase Graphics Card choice on notebooks Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by chanux 02/21/07

It's kinda interesting that I can see lots of lively discussion here on ideastorm. An open solution to categorization IdeaStorm submitted by cosh 05/08/07
This was originally posted on May 8. Lots of people were saying IdeaStorm was cluttered, and that spam and duplicates were appearing, that we needed better categories and a search engine that returns better results, and that it was taking too long to get bug fixes and improvements. Remove metallic Windows sticker Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by bastos 02/21/07
The unremovable metallic "Vista capable" or "Designed for XP" sticker serves no purpose as soon as the laptop is in use by the end-user. Dell should design its notebooks to be sleek, stylish and simple -- and a permanent stickers is the exact opposite. This is (in part) why Apple sells the most stylish laptops, and why the one you buy is never as nice as the one you see in the promotional-pictures (no stickers!) Add option to leave USB power ON when computer is OFF Laptop Power submitted by scotty 04/01/07 So many USB-connected devices now are getting charged while connected. Cell phones, MP3 players, etc etc. And of course there are the USB powered but not "connected" devices such as lights. Dell can take a leadership position to be the first to provide an option (ie: BIOS option, or physical switch) to keep the power flowing through one or all USB ports - when the computer is shut down - so that devices can be charged. Particularly notebooks, which are often times the only power source that road warriors rely on for things like cell phones. Doing this TODAY requires that the computer be left on. But Dell, add the $1 of additional hardware/technology to keep that power flowing and the payback will be huge - more sales and happier customers. This is likely the wave of the future - all computers will do this. But it would be great to see it on Dell machines ASAP. 2 Comments » Offer free Dells for April 1st Advertising and Marketing submitted by cyphercell 04/01/07 Just flat out mess with people and make them mad, then just say Haha, april fool's. "Zinc Matrix Power rechargeable batteries deliver up to twice the runtime of traditional Li-ion batteries. They also have an aqueous chemistry that is not flammable or toxic. As a result of the inherent safety, silver-zinc batteries are not subject to airline restrictions. Furthermore, the key components of silver-zinc battery technology can be 100% recycled and reused, making it an environmentally conscious alternative to many existing battery technologies." track my votes
