Incorperate some of the Latitude ATG specs into your other laptops. Latitude products submitted by jervis961 06/28/07 Why not incorperate the options of 500nits transreflective screen, LED lit keyboard, spill and dust resistant keyboard, high durability paint and docking ports into more Dell notebooks. I think customers will be happy to purchase some or all of these upgrades if they were offered on your more affordable systems. 1 Comment » Dell, don't charge extra $20 [edit: $50] for a different color notebook Inspiron products, Sales Strategies submitted by iv2101 06/28/07
It's great that more colors are available, but customers are currently charged extra on Inspiron 1420 and 1420N for colors other than black. IdeaStorm can make money for posters and for Dell - software companies pay Bloggers to post. IdeaStorm submitted by jmxz 06/26/07
Lots of articles in the news today about how a software company is apparently paying bloggers to recite their marketing Please stop shoving VISTA down our collective throats Operating Systems, Sales Strategies submitted by dal2 06/26/07 New Operating systems have problems, especially with proprietary software such as I have in my medical office (holter reading, ultrasound system, billiing system and others). I had a difficult conversion from windows 98 to XP but I am finally stable and pleased with XP. I was therefore infuriated by the DELL rep who informed me the company would not sell me the newest laptop without VISTA. (see http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3779 for docucmented issues). And if I do as the Dell rep recommended and add my own XP after purchase I lose any support for the OS as it was not placed by DELL. The whole thing stinks of forced distribution of VISTA and hyping the "numbers sold" when in fact as a consumer I do not wish to purchase or obtain VISTA as it currently exists. What happened to "have it your way"? I hope the entire community refuses to purchase until options are made available for what is placed on that hard drive at purchase, including the OS. 9 Comments » Expand Media Bay Options for XP version on M4300 Inspiron products, Operating Systems, Software submitted by sean 06/26/07

Before I buy, I would like to have the options of downloading the full technical specifications of the system. Not just the brief specifications. Place a link under "tech specs" tab that allows you to view or download the full specification PDF file for those of us who care about and understand such things. This way everyone is satisfied. Have Firefox pre-installed as default browser Software submitted by robinjfisher 02/19/07 **REVIEWED**
Does what it says on the tin! Most people only use IE because they aren't aware of other browsers - they think Internet Explorer is the Internet! What would really drive take up of alternative browsers is if Firefox was pre-installed as the default browser so that when people look for the "Internet" in Windows, they are using FF. Would love the ability to have a clean Vista install. No AOL software, no earthlink software, no google software - just a clean, original OS. Provide Linux Drivers for all your Hardware Linux submitted by gergnz 02/19/07 **IN PROGRESS**
I don't care whether the OS is pre-installed or not, I want all the hardware to be totally supported in the Linux kernel without in mucking around. I currently have a Dell M1210 and I wish the modem would work, just in case I need it. The web cam would work, just in case I need it. At least the Intel wireless card is totally supported. Thanks Intel!! Same discounts available on Ubuntu and Windows Linux, Operating Systems, Sales Strategies submitted by jonsmirl 06/12/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED** I'm ordering a Vista XPS 410 right now. I wanted a Ubuntu one but I'm going to throw away yet another copy of Windows. The Vista XPS 410 has $200 off today and free ship for a total of $869. The identical Ubuntu machine is $1019 plus $29.99 shipping. So today Ubuntu costs $170 more than Windows instead of $50 less. Why can't I have the same discounts on the Ubuntu machine? 50 Comments » Sell Linux PCs Worldwide - not only the United States Linux, Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops submitted by ergo 05/02/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**

Pretty Pink Notebooks: New Product Ideas submitted by kim_hon_yap 06/24/07 It was not surprise to see use of computer in high end cars like BMW and Benz but have we ever thought of 'built in' computer for mid and low end commercial cars? This may be a crazy idea but using computer for car basic functions control is not impossible to make some breakthrough! Such as much effective security and safety control would be area of consideration. 6 Comments » How about limiting user name length? IdeaStorm submitted by mistern 06/24/07

It seems because many people know how that windows systems are when they are brand new right after they have been made, with all the bugs and problems in the OS, that Dell would make more money if it were to keep XP, OS's out on the market for all of its computers sold as one of the options, as well as Vista. As for me I won't buy a computer from anywhere that doesn't sell XP on their computers because of the bugs and other various problems that come with new OS's. track my votes
