Non-Glare High Resolution LED Displays

Monitors and Displays, XPS products, Vostro products submitted by anonym Jul 18

Please stop the glossy display nonsence and provide a non-glare display options for all models. If possible with LED backlight, because it is brighter, thinner and less power consuming. I like the XPS M1330 very much, but the glossy display is a real show stopper...

Btw, the glossy finish of the Vostro 1310 case also seems quite pointless to me. 17 Comments »

Light up keyboards for business laptops

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Small Business, Laptops submitted by derricktwo Jun 24

I'm fortunate enough to have made it in this industry without really knowing how to type. I can type fairly fast, but I have to look at the keys while I'm doing so. I highly doubt I am the only person that needs to do this. I noticed that the Alienware notebooks have an option to add a light up keyboard. I think this would a great feature to have on Dells business class laptops. This would allow people to work in bed without needing to turn on the lights, or during night flights for a business trip. Dell Computers with e-sata ports

Servers and Storage, Desktops and Laptops submitted by chasrome Jun 13

Dell needs to supply and announce the availability of desktop, notebook, and servers with e-sata ports to which the many available external drives can be attached. RAID (0 and 1) could be available especially for servers. The ports should support six foot cables (not just three foot). Comment »

All 17" notebooks should have a numeric keypad.

Laptops submitted by winoffice Jun 13

I own a Dell Vostro 1700 notebook PC. I especially like the fact that it has an numeric keypad.

I also plan to purchase a Dell Precision M6300 notebook PC in the near future. I like most about it, but I do have a problem with the fact that it lacks a numeric keypad. If you can include a numeric keypad on the 1700, then why not on the M6300? I am certain that both are large enough to include one, since they both measure 17" in screen size. Include a numeric keypad on the 6300, and I will buy it! 2 Comments »

Bring back non-glossy displays on the Inspiron notebooks!

Inspiron products, Monitors and Displays submitted by blomster 10/26/07

The only display options showing today (10/26/07) for the 1420 and 1520 notebooks are all glossy screens. ARGH!

I want to buy an XPS M1330, but the glossy screen is a deal breaker for me. Then I was looking at the Inspiron 1420 because it had an antiglare screen available. Now the antiglare option is gone from the website.

Why, Dell? Why? 8 Comments »

More Choice of Graphic cards on (Home & Home Office) Laptops and Desktops.

Desktops, Gaming, Inspiron products submitted by fahdriyami Feb 3

Sometimes when looking for a reasonablly priced notebook or desktop i would go for the Inspiron range, and im a gamer, when customizing my pc i just wonder why is there only one or two choices of graphic cards?!, most of them support the same bus type, so why not offer them?! eg, the best Inspiron notebook you offer only comes with a GeForce 8600M GT, can you just offer an 8700M with it at least? i know you did it for a reason and its probably a good one but im just curious...thinking of it, an Inspiron with an 8800M sounds ok :D 12 Comments »

Multiple Hard drive support for 17" Precision laptop line

Precision Workstations, Laptops submitted by surfpuppy2k Apr 9

I would like to see Dell offer two hard drive support for the 17" precision laptop line. Three drive support with RAID 5 would be great.

The 17" Inspirons have the a two drive option, but I think the Precision line would really benefit from it because of the nature of the work that is done with these machines.

I would love to have a smaller but fast OS and apps drive with a larger drive for data storage Comment »

Make the Precision work stations better looking.

Precision Workstations submitted by jervis961 09/04/07

I like the specs on the new Precision 6300 but it looks like a
darker grey version of my Inspiron 6000. Why hasn't Dell tried to make
the thing better looking? The least they could have done is put it in a
Latitude case.

Avoid Glare On Screens and Notebook Frames

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Sales Strategies, Laptops submitted by bobetsue 02/20/07

Glare and reflection from high glare screens, screen frames, and notebook computers is annoying and distract from function and use.

In stores, this may be a marketing ploy. Consumers may not fully understand the problem of glare. Online sellers like Dell should inform buyers when shopping whether the screen and case are "glare" or "nonglare."

When "nonglare" was introduced to television, shoppers considered it an advantage worthy of extra expense. In the art world, nonglare glass is considered worthy of extra expense.

How did we ever get glossy screens?

Dell should offer customers a choice between "glare" and "nonglare." 244 Comments »
