Proper business Vostro

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Sales Strategies, Vostro products submitted by davidc May 20

I like most of the options for the Vostro range but like 'Oiver' I need more - please!

The 9 cell battery is not constantly an option, it appears once a blue moon (at least for the UK) but should be permanent.

The Display needs to have a no cost matt option for WUXGA similar to the M6300

Finally the graphics card needs to have a better option range - for me up to 8800m GTX and/or up to Quadro 3600. It seems the 8800m GTX consumes half the power of a Quadro 3600 so if you can accommodate the Quadro 3600 a 8800m GTX should be comparatively easy to cool

Our company does not require the support built into the M6300 package - a comparable Vostro would suit us down to the ground - how about it?

The Vostro is in your business class - make it fit please!

Thanks, David. 2 Comments »

Make the Precision work stations better looking.

Precision Workstations submitted by jervis961 09/04/07

I like the specs on the new Precision 6300 but it looks like a
darker grey version of my Inspiron 6000. Why hasn't Dell tried to make
the thing better looking? The least they could have done is put it in a
Latitude case.

Dell Mobile Workstations Need Numeric Keypads M90/M6300

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Precision Workstations submitted by pauln 08/28/07

Dell needs a numeric Keypad on "Mobile Workstations" M90, M6300 types. HP has had a numeric keypad for a While on their mobile workstations. If these are oriented towards CAD applications, then give engineers (who deal with numbers daily) what we need, a numeric keypad and utilize some of the wide open space on this 17" notebook.
It wouldn’t cost much more and for the price they should give us what we need. It’s not like they have to invent one for notebooks, they are already being made!
Also allow us to turn off the touch pad so it doesnt get bumped when using the keyboard, we use a mouse and 3D motion controllers to navigate our applications! 7 Comments »

17" Precision with an integrated number pad

New Product Ideas, Precision Workstations submitted by wnahorn 11/20/07

Seeing as how all other manufacturers of 17" workstation class laptops have integrated numberpads, it strikes me as odd that Dell has not produced such a system. I was excited to hear about the M6300, and then disappointed to see that it was essentailly just a newer M90.

Those of us who spend large amounts of time dealing with numbers could really use a number pad that does not require the use of the [Fn] key. 3 Comments »

Avoid Glare On Screens and Notebook Frames

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Sales Strategies, Laptops submitted by bobetsue 02/20/07

Glare and reflection from high glare screens, screen frames, and notebook computers is annoying and distract from function and use.

In stores, this may be a marketing ploy. Consumers may not fully understand the problem of glare. Online sellers like Dell should inform buyers when shopping whether the screen and case are "glare" or "nonglare."

When "nonglare" was introduced to television, shoppers considered it an advantage worthy of extra expense. In the art world, nonglare glass is considered worthy of extra expense.

How did we ever get glossy screens?

Dell should offer customers a choice between "glare" and "nonglare." 244 Comments »
