Dell Should buy AMD and offer AMD chips on most systems. Limit Intel offerings or eliminate them entirely. I just read today that the FTC opened a formal investigation into Intel sales tactics. We know how it works- Microsoft and Intel threaten the PC makers with loss of discounts if they don't play by Microsoft & Intel rules. Very uncool bullying tactics! 25 Comments »

Notify Customer BEFORE Cancelling Orders

When Dell decides that they aren't interested in filling a customer's confirmed order it would be nice if Dell would bother notifying the customer (preferably before cancelling the order, but certainly at least immediately afterward). 2 Comments »

Hardware numberpad on all 17 inch laptops

On 17 inch laptops there is plenty of space for a full size keyboard with a hardware numberpad to the right of it. All 17 inch laptops should have them. This is one way in which Dell's workstations could be better than the Macbook Pro. 4 Comments »

Offer machine specific XP drivers.

I recently bought a refurb 1721. Because of development work I'm doing I need to be running XP Pro. I understand that this machine is designed to work with Vista, but apparently your tech guys are telling people that the drivers don't even exist for XP - which they do.

Given that you are now offering XP as an option on equivalent machines, could you post a machine specific driver package for those of us who would like to switch to XP? That way I don't have to dig through and figure out all the drivers I need, I could just bring down a standard set. 3 Comments »

All 64 Bit PC's

Dell should begin producing all 64 bit pc's. WIth rumors of Windows Vista being the last OS available in 32 bit, they should get consumers ready with 64 bit pc's, at reasonable prices. 51 Comments »
