The XPS and E series notebooks are great, but a move into making 12.1 and 14.1 inch tablet PC convertible notebooks would be fantastic. I can easily see the m1210 and the e1405 being ported to the tablet medium. Software submitted by doomlord52 02/19/07 I think everyone agrees here. No McAfee. i cant unistall my copy because it will take all my settings for the Microsoft firewall with it. That includes my outlook settings, internet, and just about every program. Why cant i say "no McAfee please"??? is it really that hard? use Norton.... 72 Comments » Sell more desktops without monitors, keyboards, etc Desktops, Environment, Sales Strategies submitted by gordonbrown77 02/16/07 **COMING SOON** Make it an option to not get things people may already have when upgrading a PC such as monitors, mouse, keyboard. This would be good environmentally and save people some money if they already have theae things and will not be keeping the old PC. 34 Comments » Operating Systems submitted by javaprog07 02/17/07 **IMPLEMENTED**
Ok, well I know I may be chastised for bringing this up, but vista is still a young operating system with its own problems etc... I would like to see both Home and Business computers, especially notebooks have an XP Home and Pro option on top of Vista until it has at least been out for a year. For those seasoned users like me who just feel that you need to let a new OS mature before jumping right in. I am planning on buying a new notebook, and I would like to insure I wont have to format it on arrival just to have XP. As a corporate customer I like Dell's products and my USA customer support. I have read the web about all the people that have had problems with Dell customer service and mine and others are not isolated incidences. If you want people to be loyal take a hint from the corporate sales and give Home users even a little customer support. My corporate help does not read scripts, they have the power to take ownership and fix the problem. Granted I do buy Gold support. If Dell thinks it saves money for bad support; I have personally talked 20 or 30 people out of buying a Dell. Software submitted by ootleman 02/16/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**
Would love the ability to have a clean Vista install. No AOL software, no earthlink software, no google software - just a clean, original OS. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops, Linux submitted by pawprintz 02/17/07 **REVIEWED**
How about a fast, Internet ready Linux desktop. Small form factor, pretty monitor, mouse & keyboard, the O.S., OpenOffice & Firefox. Cheap'n'fast Have Firefox pre-installed as default browser Software submitted by robinjfisher 02/19/07 **REVIEWED**
Does what it says on the tin! Most people only use IE because they aren't aware of other browsers - they think Internet Explorer is the Internet! What would really drive take up of alternative browsers is if Firefox was pre-installed as the default browser so that when people look for the "Internet" in Windows, they are using FF. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.) submitted by mazemaster 03/27/07 The default mouse that ships with a new dell computer continues to be an outdated ball mouse. Sure, you can upgrade to optical for $10 but I can buy that same optical mouse new (OEM) for less than that. I'm sure you guys buy mice in large enough quantities to get huge discounts. The ball mouse probably costs you $2 and the optical probably costs you 4$. A cheap mouse can have a dramatic effect on the overall user experience. Just ditch the ball mouse and include an optical one by default, please. 3 Comments » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Operating Systems, Laptop Power submitted by apollo 03/27/07 I would like to see Dell come out with a quad core 64-bit laptop and offer a variety of OS options. Including all popular versions of Linux and as a last resort, Windows Vista. Dell should take note of the battery life of their laptop line. There must be a way to get more than an hour or so out of a fully charged laptop battery. HP does. 3 Comments » Dell Web Site submitted by jaime 03/27/07 I would like to see the shipping costs right below each product's price. 4 Comments » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Broadband and Mobility submitted by mrs2r 03/27/07 Most wireless manufacturers have been making 108 Mbps wireless equipment for several years now. Even Cisco and 3COM have 108 Mbps APs. In my experience Atheros WiFi cards work great in Dell notebooks. 10 Comments » Professional Studio Grade SILENT Fanless PC Cases Servers and Storage, Precision Workstations submitted by reg 03/27/07

Zalman Case Based Dell Systems 4 Comments »Need Windows disc not recovery option Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Operating Systems - Multiboot, Service and Support submitted by sleepydude 03/27/07 I do not like that Dell does not offer any longer a Windows disc with their systems. I do not like the recovery option. It limits what I can do when there is a problem. The only way I could get a Windows disc from them currently is to order a system without an operating system and pay full price for Windows. They didn't even offer me the OEM price. I ordered a system from Gateway instead. They still send WIndows discs with their systems. I will not order a system from Dell ever again unless I can get a Windows disc with it. The option of being able to dual boot with Linux would be nice also. 5 Comments » Dell should use ReadyBoost-Ready Motherboards Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops and Laptops submitted by jhill25570 03/27/07
ReadyBoost-Ready Motherboards Dell should move from Microsoft Works 8.0, to 8.5 Software submitted by jhill25570 03/24/07
I have contacted Dell in the past and requested they move from Microsoft Works 8.0, to Version 8.5. Dell is still installing Microsoft Works 8.0. Gateway Computer Company is using the new, version 8.5.
