Pre-Install Bonzi Buddy on all new systems! Software, Desktops and Laptops submitted by captainsensible 04/25/07
It's not about what the user wants, it's about profit! If you don't upgrade Bonzi within 30 days he gets really sad and begs you hourly for money. And each feature costs an additional fee, and if you don't get it, Bonzi starts to get angry and delete your emails and randomly disconnects you from the internet! But the profits would be amazing. Monitors and Displays submitted by jk31213 04/25/07 Exactly as the title says. Instead of DVI Cables, I think monitors nowadays should connect to desktops with these. It could possibly be sharper sound and image quality. When time goes on, possibly to HD style! 5 Comments » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops submitted by cornettt 04/25/07
I know I am not the only one to run into this problem. Dell needs to make PS2 support standard on all desktop computers. Every new computer we have ordered comes with only USB ports and no PS2 ports. Gaming, XPS products submitted by dell_admin1 04/25/07 **IMPLEMENTED**
Participate in the product design process! Dell is using IdeaStorm to decide between two new product design concepts. Vote on your favorite and weigh in to tell us what you think. When we unveiled the XPS 710 H2C at CES this year, we also uncovered it. There were a limited number of systems sprinkled throughout the show floor that had a clear side panel allowing easy viewing of the patent-pending two-stage H2C liquid cooling system. Since then, more than a few people have suggested we offer a “panel with a view” as an option for our XPS 710 line. Now we need you to vote for one of these two options and, most importantly, share some reasons why you like it. This “Now You Decide” vote campaign will be open from Wednesday, April 25 to Friday, May 11. The design that gets the most votes will be featured in a future generation of XPS gaming desktops. Check out the latest Idea in Action on the new XPS 730. 108 Comments » Gaming, XPS products submitted by dell_admin1 04/25/07

Think there is a real market for this feature on Dell's Latitude line of notebooks. Focus would be on the Latitude line to target people who work for companies. Would make hunting for projectors a thing of the past. Envisioning a projector built into the chassis. Thoughts? 14 Comments » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.) submitted by blackeagle 04/25/07 make a hard drive that can easily be poped out so that u could interchange more then one hard drive, have one for music, one for work, and one for school. 10 Comments » 5 minute "battery backup" on notebooks to allow fast main battery switching Laptop Power submitted by hjwasson 04/23/07
I would like to see Dell notebook computers incorporate a small internal battery that would allow users to quickly swap out their depleted primary battery with a fresh one - without having to power off or hibernate the notebook first. Hibernation sometimes fails on resume (although far less often than Standby), and shutdown/reboot takes too long when you're in the middle of an important meeting. I've been told that Apple MacBooks allow you to swap out batteries without shutting down first. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops, Linux submitted by pawprintz 02/17/07 **REVIEWED**
How about a fast, Internet ready Linux desktop. Small form factor, pretty monitor, mouse & keyboard, the O.S., OpenOffice & Firefox. Cheap'n'fast Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by terrymain 02/16/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**
All new laptops should have a built in web cam and quality voice recorder/microphone. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Broadband and Mobility, Latitude products submitted by janaelbrecht 04/16/07
Can DELL add a option or standard a LED light in the Latitude portable that you see better you keyboard when you need your portable on darker places. Healthcare submitted by jtcoppedge 04/16/07 A basic Extreme makeover team wihin Dell that choses a candidate that has volunteered to be made over ( whether it has to do with their physical health or their mental heath ). The program is designed to make them more confident, more educated in their position, and to reach further than they ever imagined. Not to mention it would make great publicity in the community. Dell could really use it internally as well as externally. 4 Comments » Education submitted by jtcoppedge 04/16/07 3 guys that go around to schools talking about Dell and all the great features it has. From newer MP3's with smaller ear pieces for small kids to free downloads from a Dell network dedicated to promoting educational games for kids. I can't tell you how much time my kids spend on cartoonnetwork.com just playing with educational games. I would suggest a contract with Disney's cable station to help promote the image. Focus more on the youth. Parents would rather spend their money on an educational and fun tool rather than a PS3 for their 8 year old. 1 Comment » Sales Strategies submitted by jmxz 04/16/07
HP gives me the helpful option of letting me choose not to deface my laptop with a Vista sticker. VISTA label Yes, they also give me the option of not getting Vista at all on that page (saving $75) but I think that's been pointed out in other ideas on ideastorm before. Dell: Please give us the option not to get a sticker - and, like HP, to make the systems without a Vista Basic Logo cheaper than ones with the ugly sticker. 12 Comments » Service and Support submitted by mrlinux11 04/17/07 Use RFID coded with the Service Tag Number. 10 Comments » Dell and MS XBOX Collaboration Dell, Gaming submitted by sakeshotz 04/17/07 I would like to see Dell and MS XBOX collaboration in the gaming space. Microsoft has been able to tap a new audience with their gaming platform and this in many ways reinvents many consumers of their impressions of the Redmond company. Microsoft has turned the corner from being the global corporate monger into the cool next gen game producer. Dell can ride those coattails and make significant in roads by contributing to the XBOX success by creating and branding XBOX peripherals and PC-XBOX special collaborative software. Liquidate the company and distribute the funds to the shareholders. Sound like familiar advice by one Michael Dell to Steve Jobs in 1998? Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops and Laptops submitted by bbacoyiannis 04/18/07
I think its time we move to the year 2007, make mandatory good graphics cards, no more integrated graphics cards. The amount of times of friends and families who have bought a low end system, only to complain and find out after the fact their games will not work due to the intergrated video card. They will then go out and buy a proper video card, spend the extra money and time to upgrade for a new machines. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Sales Strategies submitted by sla161 04/19/07 The mechanical mouse is dead, or at least should be in my opinion. Anyone who has used one curses the mechanical mouse after a few days of use. Yet it costs approx $15 to upgrade from a mechanical mouse to an optical on Dell's website. I can get a basic Logitech optical two button mouse for under five bucks. Get rid of the mechanical mouse and give us an optical by default raising the system price a few dollars, or allow us to select no mouse and actually take a few dollars off each machine. It's not much, but for those of us who purchase huge quantities of systems, it all adds up. 7 Comments » New Dell Retail Store! Death to Mall Kiosks! Advertising and Marketing, Sales Strategies submitted by evilspell 02/16/07 Dell should open a retail store very similar to the Apple store. I know that they have small kiosks inside malls that they try to sell Plasma TV's and a couple laptops next to a guy selling knock off sunglasses and verizon cell phone sales sharks! Very unprofessional. Open a classy Dell Store and offer Tech support right in the store just like the Genius Bar in the Apple Store. 144 Comments » track my votes
