XPS products submitted by 3dvirus 06/22/07 I saw a pics at many sites around the web about the xps m1330 and I really love it, so I suggest a dock station for it but note ppl it's an extra feature! 9 Comments » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Latitude products, Vostro products submitted by coachcg 07/21/07
Vostro looks like a good system and has some strengths over Latitude like the enhanced integrated sound, longer battery life, and better screen option, but lacks docking capability. So I went with Latitude, but I could really use those features mentioned. Could Dell look into adding those options to Latitude notebooks or adding a docking option to Vostro? Docking Stations for Inspiron and XPS notebooks Inspiron products, XPS products submitted by jlatham 06/22/07 These days with the proliferation of laptops on college campuses the utility of mediacenter laptops, such as Dell's Inspirons, is hampered by the absence of docking stations or port replicators designed to work seamlessly with these computers. Dell's makes them for Latitudes, but seems to overlook this vital portion of the market. Anyone who has ever used a docking station at work to connect periferals yearns to have one at home...or at school. 1 Comment » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by johell 02/28/07 Please make laptops with numpads !! 11 Comments » Linux Preinstalado en DELL España submitted by irio 02/20/07

I find myself many, many times in dark or poorly lit environments having to guess the various keys - would be fantastic to have a backlit keyboard - with backlit individual keys as the best option. All new laptops should have a built in web cam and quality voice recorder/microphone. Desktops and Laptops submitted by mwmtjm 01/30/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Do away with 512MB of memory as a base option to buy consumer desktops and notebooks. With Vista running best on 1GB at a minimum, don't make customers have a basic experience with the new OS because Dell wants to be able to advertise at a lower price point. The success of Vista -- and subsequently for Dell -- will be largely in word of mouth. Take a long-term view and build the momentum one great customer experience at a time right now! Would love the ability to have a clean Vista install. No AOL software, no earthlink software, no google software - just a clean, original OS. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops, Linux submitted by pawprintz 02/17/07 **REVIEWED**
How about a fast, Internet ready Linux desktop. Small form factor, pretty monitor, mouse & keyboard, the O.S., OpenOffice & Firefox. Cheap'n'fast Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by jmecc 02/27/07
Please make a real docking station for the Inspirons, not a usb port replicator. I was thinking of using an Inspiron as my main computer if I can just dock it when I get home. The ability to connect to 2 external monitors would allow me to use the notebook as my primary. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops and Laptops submitted by chuckles67 02/27/07 eSATA port enables fast external disk access (at bus speed). This would be an optimal way to edit video using a Dell laptop or desktop with an external hard drive. 7 Comments » The Clutter Is Forming: We Need A Moderator Dell Community, IdeaStorm submitted by googideas 02/17/07 **IMPLEMENTED**
Approximately 48 hours into its life, and Ideastorm is filling up with repetition and senseless comments. Since moderation cannot be exercised by the participants a moderator a la Dell Employee must put up her hand. Or his hand. We aren't picky! EXTERNAL GRAPHICS CARD DOCKING STATION FOR LAPTOPS Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Gaming, Laptops submitted by gsus 02/23/07
Essentially, the biggest problem with laptop gaming is the lack of power and ability to upgrade. Most of the laptops these days cannot keep up with the high powered laptops and SLi or Crossfire setups. A proposal should be to use the existing docking port located on most XPS systems and allow it to use an external graphics card. I have seen the option of using an external graphic card docking station in the BIOS in my M1710, and this would allow for greater flexibility and shelf life of your systems. In addition companies such as ASUS have announced plans for the XG Station, a PCI-E connector that would house a external video card, say a 8800GTS. track my votes
