MagSafe power connectors, by Apple, are magnetic power connectors that pull out harmlessly when the cord is tripped upon. Healthcare, Service and Support submitted by arthus 02/21/07

Hi, Idea for more visible windows using 'depth' Desktops, Operating Systems submitted by grannybuttons Jun 15
I'd like to see an OS desktop which uses sharpness/fuzziness to increase the sense of depth. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Service and Support submitted by jkuper Apr 9 Dell needs to bring back the laminated Windows Product Key Tags. They've gone away from them and it's not working out at all. We have a a number of Optiplex 745 pc's at the office with the new non laminated style that are already starting to lose their product key stickers after just 6 months. The old laminated style was much much better. Thank you. 1 Comment » Server with open source server software such as Email Server Servers and Storage submitted by sungun Jun 7 Provide the preload Server for end users Such as Email Server;Document Server,Security Server,E-Business Server 2 Comments » Promote Windows Home Server Bigtime Servers and Storage submitted by gcreese 02/17/07
Microsoft is coming out with Windows Home Server this year, which will allow households to backup and manage their house PCs from a single spot. At this point, a lot of households are in this situation (e.g., with two adults and a child, we have three laptops, a desktop, and three PDAs). Get out in front of the curve on this one (HP made its announcement at the CES Show), talk about it, promote the fact that you will offer it, and in the vein of the other "make the website easier to use" suggestions, explain how Windows Home Server is something to consider for a family going digital. Make parts return consistent - and SIMPLE Servers and Storage, Service and Support submitted by phubert May 8
This week, I had the opportunity to return two different power supplies. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Servers and Storage, Desktops and Laptops submitted by johnmc May 27 I'd like to see Dell offer a laptop, designed for mobile business. Specifically one with a built in "signature pad" so that a form could be designed in Microsoft Word or even better in Infopath and the client could sign using a stylus on the laptop itself. Forms could be created entirely on the laptop in the field from templates, signed in the field and then printed on a mobile printer, with a copy given to the client and an electronic signed copy synchronized as soon as they return to the office. I realize that a tablet pc can do this now, but this would be a more simple and effective way to fill out the forms, most supermarkets have a signature pad that almost everyone is familiar with, an area on the laptop with a signature block should not be that hard to build in. Other features should include wireless, solid state memory hard drive, and the built in lighting like some of the other "rugged" models, and the availability of a port replicator or docking station. Also I'd like to see a docking station with a built in external hard drive so that while in the car you could create a backup of the laptop for emergency recovery in case the laptop itself gets stolen or damaged, at least you would not have lost files. 1 Comment » Optiplex 745 with 19" flat panel monitor Monitors and Displays, Sales Strategies, OptiPlex products submitted by br7868 03/08/07

First, of what happened to the GX for the Optiplex series? Bring back the Dell OptiPlex GX 280! OptiPlex products submitted by hexstar 03/31/07 I think Dell should bring back the Dell OptiPlex GX 280 form factor. Why? You could open it from the back easily by pressing a button and splitting it open, then there were green tabs that you put on drives to easily slide them in and out to avoid dealing with screws, things were easily identified and it was very easy to add and replace hardware. There doesn't seem to be any form factor quite like the OptiPlex GX 280's and I greatly wish they'd continue to use that form factor. Anyone agree with me? :-) 2 Comments » Enable RAID 1 support for Optiplex series desktops. Desktops, Servers and Storage, OptiPlex products submitted by lester67 03/07/07
Enable RAID1 support for Optiplex series desktops, and include a quick utility that allows an email to be sent in the event of a drive failure. Possibly pair this up with a way to mount two laptop HDD's in a 3.5 HDD space, for desktop, and small factor implementation. Standardize Power Cables for Laptops Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by badblood 08/27/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Nothing is more annoying than laptop power cables that are not interchangeable from one computer model to another or from one brand of computer to another. Power cables have been standardized on most electrical applicances, including desktop computers for decades. Environment submitted by falbert May 22
In the last shipment of computers I received I was shocked by the amount of plastic wrap used for items like power cords, USB cables, VGA/DVI cables. Do these items really need to be individually wrapped in a plastic bag. I can just imagine the tons of plastic used by Dell annually... track my votes
