Hi, LED Backlit Displays for Higher Resolutions for XPS M1530 Monitors and Displays, Sales Strategies, XPS products submitted by whitefrost May 14 The release of the LED backlit 1440 x 900 display is great, but needs to be expanded to higher resolutions most notably the 1680 x 1050 resolution which a large number of people use and are most comfortable with. It would not be a threat to the M1730 as you can keep the LED Full HD 1920 x 1200 for it alone. 6 Comments » Availability of LED LCD SCREENS in FRANCE and EUROPE Monitors and Displays, Sales Strategies, XPS products submitted by mdevoucoux May 17
I've alrady posted this idea but it wasn't very explicit : Standardize Laptop Hard Drives - banish these connectors Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by georgecoffey May 20
I wanted to upgrade my hard drive as it had a second Hard Drive Bay. When I purchased a new hard drive from a local PC Store, it wouldn't go into my new laptop. I had previously checked that it was a SATA HDD and Laptop. However, when I took out my system Drive(the one that came originally), I did notice a little connector was on it. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.) submitted by falbert May 22 How come we can still get in 2008 mechanical mice. Come on guys, in 2008 there should be only optical mice available. Also please make it clear on the web site what people are purchasing. 26 Comments » give the origianl CD of the OS and not an ISO Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Service and Support submitted by siger May 19
when there is a problem with the Master Boot Record the ISO can't repair it and we have to go to a reparation company. Environment submitted by falbert May 22
In the last shipment of computers I received I was shocked by the amount of plastic wrap used for items like power cords, USB cables, VGA/DVI cables. Do these items really need to be individually wrapped in a plastic bag. I can just imagine the tons of plastic used by Dell annually... Laptops submitted by phil.christs May 10 With the new Intel Silverthorne platform, all the Atom Z5xx processors have a TDP of less than 4W. It should be possible to design a completely fanless heat dissipation solution for laptops based on these, and I for one would find the reduced noise extremely desirable. This would not require any outlandish water-cooling, rather the power is low enough to rely just on convection, or simply distribute the heat through an alloy case for the laptop. Dell, please make a totally fanless laptop. Comment » Monitors and Displays, Laptops submitted by pablohs May 7 There should be an option to purchase any laptop with a touch screen. 6 Comments » 8GB of RAM capacity on M1730. C'mon Dell, you already offer it in Precision M6300 Sales Strategies, XPS products, Laptops submitted by kanoneno May 12
Please make posible upgrading to 8GB of RAM on the M1730, and also offer 64 bit Vista so we can really take advantage of the memory. I mean, 4 GB is kind of new, but 64 bit applications are starting to emerge and soon 4 GB wont be enough, Vista uses 1 GB or something like that so you are only left with 3GB, thats pretty much the same you can use in Windows XP. If you can already make 8GB laptops (precision M6300) then upgrade the M1730 so that we can really start taking advantage of 64 bit apps. put Harman Kardon louspeakers on notebooks Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by siger May 19 put Harman Kardon loud speakers (or other good brand) on notebooks 4 Comments » Offer an XPS 12" inch notebook Again Sales Strategies, XPS products, Laptops submitted by nsenman May 16 I used to have the m1210 and m710 laptop notebooks and they were great machines to tote around. Include great specs like the m1210 had. give such things as a strong video card, HDMI, 1394, 3 or more USB ports, swivel webcam, fingerprint reader, etc. You created an awesome performing notebook in the m1210 but it wasn't stylish enough like the m1330. Create an awesome 12'' designer laptop and people will buy it. 7 Comments » XPS laptops should have more designs to choose from XPS products, Laptops submitted by james-94 May 19

Today a travelling laptop user has often additional mobile devices which are charged by the USB port like Music players, mobile phones, PDA's etc. To charge these the Laptop unfortunate must be switched on. If the Transformator/ power supply for Laptops would have an USB power supply connector, - devices could be charged indendent from running the Laptop. (e.g. at nigth in Hotel) Add higher screen resolution to all home & home office laptops Monitors and Displays, Laptops submitted by ccpljat Apr 25 I have been using a used [another brand's] business laptop that has a high screen resolution. The cheaper Inspiron laptops can only go up to 1280x800. I cannot be productive on a screen that small any more. At least bump it up to 1440x900 or equivalent. I have basically been forced to shop in the Small Business section to find an affordable computer with a higher screen resolution. 6 Comments » track my votes
