How about providing additional warranty for major hardware components such as motherboard, processor, graphics card and monitors.

Market warranty information
- Boxed processor comes with three year warranty
- LCD monitors come with three year warranty
- Hard drives come with three or five year warranty
- Good MoBos come with three year warranty
- Graphics card has two or three yeat warranty

But with regular purchase Dell gives just one year warranty on all the components. Instead they can give additional Component Warranty apart from the one year system warranty. Comment »

Dell can provide additional information on each of the following hardware, especially for desktops, and provide options for changing them.

- Motherboard Information (number of memory slots, PCI-E/PCI slots, North and South bridge details, Processor support) along with three other mobo choices
- Graphics card information (w/o SLI, GPU FSB, etc)
- Processor Information
- Monitor Information (contrast ratio, refresh rate, brightness, resolution)

Dell can provide an option for advanced users/customers to partition the hard disk while the OS is installed in the system that is ordered. Can ask for the following details while partitioning:

1. Number of partitions
2. Type of partition (primary or logical)
3. Size of each partition
