Can Dell upgrade the XPS m1330? I would like to know if everyone would like it!

Can't Dell include a 256MB nVidia GeForce 8600. And then cram in a Blu-ray Disc Drive? That shall be better and not the GPU, but the lack of Blu-ray Disc Drive is the sole reason for the fact that I havent bought that hard-core machine. And also preferably a Core 2 Extreme X7800/X7900 on-board which would make it a marvellous-looking gaming machines. And this is a question: Is there a DVI-out on the Dell XPS m1330? I can try a Blu-ray Drive from the company Sinep-Anigav. But the problem is, I just don't trust them. So if Dell could cram in an 8600M, a Blu-ray Rewriter, a DVI -out(if there isn't one already), and finally a Core 2 Extreme X7900. If you could cram this in, I would love it!

Sell the XPS and Vostro lines at Staples too...not only Inspiron
Sales Strategies, XPS products submitted by winoffice
12/04/07
I know that Dell began to offer computers for display and sales at Staples recently - GREAT MOVE! But unfortnately, this concerns only Inspiron...I cannot wait to try out some XPS computers at Staples and order them there!
I went to the Staples Web site (http://www.staples.com), clicked at the "Computers and PDAs" link and ended up at http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?&secondlevel..., clicked at the "Dell Computers" link and ended up at http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?&secondlevel....
I was disappointed on discovering that only Inspirons were offered - is it so hard to sell the higher-end XPS and Vostro lines at Staples? Please sell the XPS and Vostro lines as well! XPS systems that I would want to see in Staples stores and on the Staples Web site include but are not limited to the following.
- XPS M1330 notebook - XPS M1710 notebook - XPS M1730 notebook - XPS One desktop (all-in-one) - XPS 420 mini tower desktop - XPS 630 mini tower desktop - XPS 720 tower desktop
Vostro systems that I would want to see in Staples stores and on the Staples Web site include but are not limited to the following.
- Vostro 1400 notebook - Vostro 1500 notebook - Vostro 1700 notebook - Vostro 200 slim tower - Vostro 200 mini tower - Vostro 400 mini tower
Also consider the OS on most computers in Staples stores - Windows Vista Home Premium or Basic. However, it would certainly be ironic if Vostro and XPS (which has the most features compared the Inspirons) computers came with Windows Vista Home instead of Ultimate (which has more features than any other Windows Vista edition). Besides, the XPS and Vostro systems that I tried out at Dell Direct Store kiosks had Windows Vista Ultimate, and the offerings at Staples should at least be the same but certainly not less. So please Dell, make the XPS and Vostro systems that will be offered in Staples stores and on the Staples Web site come with Windows Vista Ultimate, not Home Premium/Basic.

Improve M1330 Keyboard
Accessories (Keyboards, etc.) submitted by kyliemanders

I finally got my beloved Crimson M1330 today.
Dell it is beautiful...
The whole experience was really a surprise - from packaging to minimal pre-installed bloatware (only the useless Google Desktop, toolbar and Norton installed).
The only area of disappointment is the cheap plastic silver painted keyboard and mouse keys. This machine has an all aluminum case covering... It is beautiful until you look and see the keyboard keys are painted plastic with silver paint...
I highly suggest you replace this with aluminum plated keys... I paid $2,000 for this!
Nonetheless i am very happy...

Offer 256MB discrete Graphics on the m1330 also
submitted by ordinary_user
12/02/07
Please offer a 256MB Graphics card option also on the m1330 - just like the one offered on the m1530.
with apps like games, Google Earth, and Vista Premium, the 256MB seems like a necessity instead of an optional system requirement...

Stop Overcharging on Notebook RAM
Sales Strategies, Laptops submitted by realskript
08/28/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Dell really... REALLY need to stop overcharging... and when i say overcharing... i mean atleast double what you would pay to pick up the ram yourself. On XPS Notebooks... you are charging $500 for 4GB of ram... when you could easily go pick them up at your local computer shop for $250... and pocket the other half of the $500...
It would be nice if dell could save the customers as well as the company itself this hassle.. and start charging NORMAL prices for an upgrade in RAM.
thanks =D
PS..... PROMOTE THIS!!!!

SCREEN RESOLUTIONS for XPS Laptop Line
Why on God's green earth would Dell throw in such a cheapy LCD screen into the XPS 1530 ? I've been waiting for this laptop religously since it was 'announced', in the hope of a 1680x1050 screen, or at LEAST 1440x900. What is this, Dell ? Are you trying to scare away your customers with blocky icons and low resolutions ?
Ok, on a less rampaging note ..
Is there any possibility this might change in the future ? Would i be foolish to order immediately, only to see a couple of LCD options pop up over the next few days ? We now offer 1440 x 900 and 1680 x 1050 panels as an option. Take a look at the Direct2Dell blog post on the idea.

Standardize Power Cables for Laptops
Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by badblood
08/27/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Nothing is more annoying than laptop power cables that are not interchangeable from one computer model to another or from one brand of computer to another. Power cables have been standardized on most electrical applicances, including desktop computers for decades.
Make an effort to promote and implement standard power cables for laptops.

There should be an option of having no trialware on all computers
Software submitted by jervis961
08/23/07 **REVIEWED**
Here is a news article about trialware and how Dell feels that regular customers want it but small business ones do. Do they not look at the ideas here?
"Not interested in all of the trial software that clutters up new PCs? You're not alone: According to Dell's recent research in both focus groups and broader surveys, small-business users overwhelmingly view trialware as an irritant, not a benefit. That research has led Dell to axe the extras from its new Vostro line of small-business desktop PCs and laptops. Eliminating demo applications is a major step for Dell, which has caught flack for the quantity of trialware on its consumer PCs. (One frustrated customer went so far as to develop a "Decrapifier" utility. The company says that consumers who buy PCs for personal use do express interest in preloaded trial software, but that small-business users have different needs. By eliminating the trialware from Vostro machines, Dell says it has cut the system setup time in half. For now, Dell is the only major PC manufacturer to ship small-business systems without preinstalled trialware as a standard practice. (Some competitors, such as HP, allow customers to choose a no-trialware configuration.)"
Dell offers a broad amount of software choice and minimal software shipped. Read jeremy_f's post on the options we give our customers

XPS m1330 should have at least 3 USB ports
XPS products submitted by ordinary_user
12/02/07
the XPS m1330 should have AT LEAST 3 USB 2.0 ports; If it means removing the 1394a port, so be it.
most peripherals are USB based; e.g. If I attach an external HDD such as Seagate FreeAgent, it uses 2 ports by itself. I would also work with a mouse when connected on my desk....
A solution such as attaching a USB hub may not be feasible, as I do not know if the USB port can support the current drawn by multiple devices connected to it (apart from thumb drives etc).
