I ordered the Dell Studio Hybrid Desktop the first day it was announced, and I put up a video on YouTube about it the day I received it: Inspiron products submitted by brokencrystal Yesterday
I know it's too late for the first generation of the Mini Inspiron, but this idea is for the second generation. Allowusers to register operating system changes with service tag Dell Web Site, Service and Support submitted by ethana2 3 days ago
I bought an Ubuntu inspiron 1420n, so when I call for hardware support, the techs are already aware that I'm not running windows on it-- my sister, however, is running Ubuntu on a Latitude that came with XP. Sometimes, what you want just isn't available with Ubuntu and you have to go through the whole mail-in-windows-refund thing. Dell version of an All-In-One PC in a keyboard. I like the ZPC-GX31 design by Cybernet (specs: Intel Core 2 Quad, 4GB DDR2, 750GB HDD, Internal Wireless LAN) but it needs a decent video card. Dell should come up with a similar design. have a Dell "new and upcoming products/ideas" page Dell Web Site submitted by luckeycat Aug 16 I think it would be convient if Dell had a page on thier site that was dedicated to new and upcoming products and ideas, that way people could actually see almost everything that will be upcoming/new, and ideas that Dell has. Then after all that, make the page easily accessible. 1 Comment » 64 bit linux systems/dell multi boot systems Linux, Operating Systems submitted by luckeycat Aug 16
I think it would be great to have a 64 bit linux os on a dell. so when looking threw all of the posts i get a general prospective of what people are really looking for. I think that this idea if done properly could change Dell in the eyes of a huge group of people that have moved to other companies or custom built pc's. Studio Hybrid that can play games Desktops submitted by bostich Aug 14
Would it be possible to squeeze a mobile graphics card of some kind as an option on the Studio Hybrids? Just about the only thing holding me back is the poor-avreage gaming performance of the X3100. Concentrate more on the home user Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops, Digital Nomads submitted by jervis961 Aug 13 Dell seams to be looking for places to expand. They have moved into China and other countries to tap into the expanding market. Why not explore a place Dell has never really concentrated all that much on, the home market. To date Dell's sales is primarily driven by the business and government users so Dell concentrates on those customers. Dell has just released a new series of Latitude and Precision notebooks which they put a lot of research into to make them more attractive to the "Digital Nomad". Dell forgets that home users are also on the move and would benefit from some improvements, If Dell would concentrate as hard on home users as it does the business ones they would see a huge spike in sales. 31 Comments » When you choose not to implement an idea, explain why IdeaStorm submitted by winoffice Aug 14 Most of the time when I see "**REVIEWED**" or another tag that indicates refusal to implement, I just see one Dell comment that says "Dell has reviewed such and such idea" or "Dell is continuing to explore such and such"...and in another Dell comment I see "Changed status to **REVIEWED**.". Could we have some more details please, as to why you refuse to implement? 5 Comments » IdeaStorm submitted by winoffice Aug 14 **REVIEWED**
Why should we have to wait so long for you to tell us what is your opinion on ideas. Plenty of the ideas are still here without ANY status tags at all! This makes us think that you just want not to implement those ideas. If you want not to implement an idea, then do at least tell us so that we know, and so that we have no false hopes. Please answer the complaints you receive! Service and Support, XPS products submitted by lola9 Aug 12
As a consumer it seems dell spends a lot of time talking about how valuable their customers are but little or no time actually doing it. I have had several issues with dells customer service and with the xps product i have and my complaints are simply not being answered. I know of several people who have had their complaints ignored. I personally will now be going through the small claims court in Ireland and the national consumer agency to get my legal entitlements of statutory rights that dell have denied me, something i would not have had to do if dell had bothered reading and replying to my complaint. offer higher resolution sceens on your laptops Monitors and Displays, Laptops submitted by notatoad Aug 12 dell laptops used to come in 1680 and 1920 resolutions. the sexy new latitudes top out at WXGA+ in the 15" models. how am i supposed to get any work done on such a low resolution screen? 3 Comments » Service and Support submitted by jcm337 Aug 12 You could streamline your customer service. I just had to talk to 7 people in order to find a tracking number to see when my package would get to me. Also, don't use the automated call system unless you follow up with an e-mail since you can't always write down a tracking number while driving in the car. Another idea would be to bring back your Canadian call center since they always worked through things smoothly. 1 Comment » Service and Support submitted by phubert Aug 11
When I call IBM support and when I called Discover recently, I was FIRST told which center I was being directed to. Offer 3 gb of ram on most Windows PCs Desktops and Laptops submitted by lordcobol 10/01/07 With 32-bit Windows unable to recognize 4 gigabytes, 3 seems like a good choice for lots of us. But Dell lets us do that only by buying extra ram separately. 14 Comments » Operating Systems submitted by mugunth 07/03/07 We all know that, Vista (and any 32 bit OS) cannot access memory more than 3.16 GB... Hence instead of a 4GB upgrade option, why don't Dell provide a 3GB (2DIMM) option (1 X 1GB + 1 X 2GB 2DIMMs) which would be cheaper than the 4GB upgrade? When Windows cannot access all the 4GB you provide, what's the use in investing extra money? 18 Comments » track my votes
