Compact Flourescent Light Bulb with every PC, Printer or Monitor

Ship one CFL bulb (60 or 75 w equivalent) with every significant order (PC, laptop, monitor, printer). Millions of kilowatts could be saved.

Team up with a major retailer if necessary, to do it.

Then encourage people to let you know when they've installed it - maybe even make a small donation (50 cents?) to a charity in their name when they do.

This could have a bigger impact that the plant a tree / carbon neutral campaign. 1 Comment »

Ship a smart power strip with every PC

There are a power strips out there that turn off your peripherals when you shut down your computer - and turn them back on again when you power up! Dell should ship one with every computer or sells it at a steep discount encourage their use. They can save hundreds of Kilowatts every year just by powering down speakers, USB hubs, routers and other things. Good for the planet, good for your wallet
