OLEDs are much more effieient, brighter, offer higher contrast ratio's AND are much smaller. for example, SONY is currently developing a 27" HD TV with OLED technology. It has a contrast ratio of 1 million to 1, and has a response time of 0.01 MILLISECONDS. Samsung is making an 80" HD TV that is less than 2cm thick. There IS a computer monitor 19" thats only 2.1mm thick. With that kind of tech, you could make a laptop a lot thinner. OLEDs are also much more energy efficient efficient, and can save up to 30% more energy than an LCD of the same size. You can also BEND OLED monitors, because the screen is like a film. Use only the best and brightest LCDs for all laptops! No sub-par manufacturers need apply! Laptops submitted by astudios 02/17/07
From what I understand, today's Dell LCDs on laptops are made by Toshiba, LG, Samsung, etc.. why make it an anticipating "waiting game" for the customer to see which quality of LCD they get when their laptop comes in? The LCD display is THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT part of any laptop. Dell.. please, use ONLY the best and brightest LCDs on all of your laptops. Monitors and Displays submitted by drew08867 06/28/07 Dell should transition all monitors to LED back lighting. More cost effective (in terms of energy use), greener, longer life. 11 Comments » XPS M1530 Led Monitor lighting Monitors and Displays, XPS products submitted by valerio.gioia 12/27/07 Led lighting for XPS M1530 displays would be a really interesting option. Many people would choose that display since there is less power consumption and led life is really higher than CCFL tubes! 23 Comments » Avoid Glare On Screens and Notebook Frames Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Sales Strategies, Laptops submitted by bobetsue 02/20/07

Would love the ability to have a clean Vista install. No AOL software, no earthlink software, no google software - just a clean, original OS. track my votes
