The transfer rate of the selected wireless card is 54 Mbps, or megabits per second. A megabit is a thousand bits, and a bit is a 1 or a 0. So Dell thinks that 54 thousand 1's and 0's are useful to me?

Advertise transfer rates in megabytes (MBps with an uppercase B), not megabits (Mbps with a lowercase B). A byte can be a character of a document or a web page, part of a picture, or something else. In any case, 1 MBps (one thousand bytes per second, or a megabyte per second) is much more useful to me. Besides, web pages, pictures and other files are measured in bytes/kilobytes/megabytes/etc., why not transfer rates?

Many people think that the transfer rate is in megabytes, only to find out later that the wireless card is transferring megabits. Please stop advertising in such a useless unit as megabits, and start advertising in more useful units, like megabytes! Besides, Dell is asking for ideas concerning wireless after all. 7 Comments »

Why is there no Dell logo on the XPS 630?

Advertising and Marketing, XPS products submitted by winoffice Mar 14 **ALREADY OFFERED**

Dell you have always included a Dell logo (either by itself or within a circle) on all of your products until now. Why have you abandoned that concept on the XPS 630? I almost liked it, but the fact that there is no Dell logo on it caused me to abandon it in favor of the XPS 720 instead. Explain why you have not included even one Dell logo on the XPS 720. And include at least one Dell logo (each being either by itself or within a circle) on the XPS 630.

The Dell logo is on the back of the system. Please see all of aaron_h's comments if you would like further clarification.

Please bring back the Vostro 1400.

Vostro products submitted by winoffice Jun 16

http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/vostronb?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s...

I am really disappointed that Dell has discontinued the Vostro 1400, one of the best notebook PCs that Dell currently sells. Its 14.1" screen size is one of my favorite screen sizes. The 13.3" Vostro 1310 does not even compare and is by no means a replacement for the 1400.

First, the 1400 is far cheaper. Second, I prefer the 14.1" screen size to the 13.3" one by far. I have compared the 1400 to the 1310, aand the 1400 is ten times better. Please Dell, bring back the 1400. 7 Comments »

Stop forcing built in cameras!

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Sales Strategies, Laptops submitted by winoffice Jun 23

http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspnnb_1720?c=us&cs...

The fact that Dell is forcing built in cameras on the XPS notebook PCs is already bad. But now, Dell is starting to force built in cameras on other products as well! Now I can no longer get the Inspiron 1720 without a built in camera!

Does Dell understand that not all people will use it? Why then should I be forced to pay for what I will not use? Stop forcing built in cameras. On all of your products, make built in cameras optional if anything, but no way mandatory. 15 Comments »
