Personally, I like the XPS 630; it's only a few hundred more than making a similar computer yourself, but it has a really nice case, is put together for you, and comes under warranty. However, I would really like to see more options available on this computer, as well as some changes made. Add dedicated graphics to all Inspiron laptops Gaming, Inspiron products, Laptops submitted by ccpljat Apr 25 I want dedicated graphics to be added as an option on all the Inspiron laptops. I don't have a lot of money and can't afford the XPS systems. At least give the option for 128 MB dedicated on all Inspirons. Intoduce an option to not choose a PC component especially for the XPS Desktop Range, most of Gaming Consumers have already built a PC before and have some of the essential components already, for example, i already have a compatible Intel processor and want my Dell shipped without a processor to save money. a "No Component" limit should also be applied, and not all components should have this option. Talking from a business point of view, this could reduce electronic waste in the long run, however it could also reduce sales of the components which could upset manufacturers... There are many posts regarding the fact that TrueLife displays are far too reflective for brightly backlit conditions. User responses to the complaints suggest getting a business class display with anti-glare filter - but these displays have not kept pace, are too dim, have poor pixel response rates and often have poor color rendition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-reflective_coatingI'm sure that Seiko, Hoya, Essilor, iCoat and others would vie for the chance to open up a new market for their coatings, and thus bring more profits to them (and lower costs to us). Some IdeaStorm members might be concerned about scratching the coating - but consider: 1. LCD panels are already prone to scratching, and care must be taken in their cleaning. 2. Modern Anti-Reflective (AR) coatings, with their multiple layers, are far more resistant to scratching than they used to be. 3. AR coatings tend to repel dust, so the need for cleaning would be less frequent. 4. With the use of a microfiber cloth (and mild liquid cleaning formulations when needed), the AR coating and display will remain pristine for many years of service. If you would like to see modern Anti-Reflective coatings applied to TrueLife displays (as an optional upgrade) please promote this post. 6 Comments » Gaming, XPS products submitted by darkproteus66 Apr 30 Do like HP has done with the black bird 02 and offer XPS gaming models that can run SLI or Crossfire off the same high end mobo. 10 Comments » Gaming, XPS products, Laptops submitted by theideasman Apr 25

UPDATE the Graphics Card of XPS 1530 Gaming, XPS products submitted by bryan14c 12/22/07 Hp had an update of their 8600gs graphics card and still DELL has a 256mb 8600gt , why not upgrade it to 512mb plus using DDR3 and still even though there is a 256mb option at least it will be DDR3 in it, well DELL must update the XPS 1530 with a 8600gt 512mb DDR3 graphics Card 5 Comments » Give a choice of either Ati or Nvidia gpu's Gaming, Desktops and Laptops submitted by theideasman Mar 23 Everyone is a fanboy to one particular brand and prefers their products, so why do some desktops and a lot of laptops only have one option. There should be at least one Ati card and one Nvidia card available for each machine so people dont have to go for the brand they dont want. Its only fair... 6 Comments » Broadband and Mobility, Gaming, XPS products submitted by icarus75 Apr 13
Inspired by the XPS 16-inch concept at CES 2008, but thinking about something a little more powerful, I'm hoping for a perfect blend of mobility, gaming, and native 16:9 high-definition viewing. Upgradable graphics in the m1530!!! (no more soldered cards) Gaming, XPS products submitted by theideasman Mar 4 Im sick of my laptop graphics getting old and then finding that i need to buy an all new system. Cant the xps come with modular cards (mxm) that can be upgraded direct from dell if the consumer requests a graphics upgrade. Of course there will be a cost involved but surely it will be better than having to buy an entire new system! 2 Comments » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Gaming, XPS products submitted by zanlok Mar 22

Participate in the product design process! Dell is using IdeaStorm to decide between two new product design concepts. Vote on your favorite and weigh in to tell us what you think. When we unveiled the XPS 710 H2C at CES this year, we also uncovered it. There were a limited number of systems sprinkled throughout the show floor that had a clear side panel allowing easy viewing of the patent-pending two-stage H2C liquid cooling system. Since then, more than a few people have suggested we offer a “panel with a view” as an option for our XPS 710 line. Now we need you to vote for one of these two options and, most importantly, share some reasons why you like it. This “Now You Decide” vote campaign will be open from Wednesday, April 25 to Friday, May 11. The design that gets the most votes will be featured in a future generation of XPS gaming desktops. Check out the latest Idea in Action on the new XPS 730. 107 Comments » More Choice of Graphic cards on (Home & Home Office) Laptops and Desktops. Desktops, Gaming, Inspiron products submitted by fahdriyami Feb 3 Sometimes when looking for a reasonablly priced notebook or desktop i would go for the Inspiron range, and im a gamer, when customizing my pc i just wonder why is there only one or two choices of graphic cards?!, most of them support the same bus type, so why not offer them?! eg, the best Inspiron notebook you offer only comes with a GeForce 8600M GT, can you just offer an 8700M with it at least? i know you did it for a reason and its probably a good one but im just curious...thinking of it, an Inspiron with an 8800M sounds ok :D 3 Comments » Hire someone that knows gaming PCs so you don't have to ask... spend some time on the HardOCP forums, or the Tom's Hardware forums, and find someone that really knows what they are talking about and then hire them to consult. I doubt that it would cost much, shunt some free hardware their way and I'm sure they would be ecstatic.
